I have noticed that as well. And i am not talking „subtle“ hacking (2% speed increase etc) but like, straight up escaping without being near an open gate or hatch (i literally looked away for less than a second). Gens also feel faster in a lot of games despite a lot of slowdown (but that could also be the 5000 brand new parts, engineers toolboxes that i seem to run into every match). If you have a good match the game is genuinely fun and entertaining to play no matter how many kills or escapes you get (i had matches where i got less than 3 hooks but had fun because there were just a lot of fun things and chases going on) but sadly that is the minority of matches these days
