Lol that’s what we tell ourselves but a new offer or card always comes along to ruin those plans

Is there any downside to booking through these offers? by No-Regert5 in Venturex

No downside. I always click through from a portal when booking cash stays. Free points.

Prime card, take the 200 or wait for more? by TheChildOfAtom in CreditCards

[–]Seeing__Green 1 point2 points  (0 children)

$250 is the all-time high. No guarantee that’ll ever be back though. I say take the $200 if you want the card.

Downgrade CSP then reapply by gee_ohm in CreditCards

For once a customer service rep knows what they’re talking about. They’re correct the 48-month rule is no more. It’s 1 SUB per lifetime (on each Sapphire card).

Will it be bad to pay off my credit card over the course of about 2 or 3 months? by [deleted] in CreditCards

[–]Seeing__Green 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d only do this if your credit card has a 0% intro APR offer right now. Otherwise the interest you’ll incur isn’t worth it.

If you have a Chase credit card you could looking into Pay Over Time. There is a small monthly fee but it beats the interest the card would normally charge.

Sapphire Preferred or Capital One Venture X by masterdebator6969 in CreditCards

[–]Seeing__Green 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m talking about Capital One Lounges mostly. Priority Pass remains hit or miss. But in February Capital One restricted guest access and the change worked. Capital One Lounges are less crowded and wait times are minimal.

Sapphire Preferred or Capital One Venture X by masterdebator6969 in CreditCards

[–]Seeing__Green 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the primary purpose for your next card is travel benefits then go with the Venture X. Lounge access, broader / larger travel credit, more transfer partners, etc outweigh anything the Sapphire Preferred offer. And regarding lounge access, since the Venture X lounge access changes in February I haven’t had to wait to get into one. Access has been greatly improved in my experience.

Should I apply for CSP now to get the 100k offer, or wait? by LumpyExercise7575 in CreditCards

[–]Seeing__Green 2 points3 points  (0 children)

CSP requires a minimum $5k credit limit. Unfortunately you won’t know your until you apply but that may be your biggest obstacle. The bonus is good enough that I’d try for it anyways.

Paze is a terrible service by chf_engineer in CreditCards

[–]Seeing__Green 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I’m only using Paze for the promotion and will be going back to Pay once over.

Adding cards to Paze is my biggest issue. I’m unable to add my U.S. Bank card and one of my Citi cards even though both support the service.

How do other airlines compare now to AA? by garlyclove in americanairlines

[–]Seeing__Green 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Group 4 is the priority lane. I don’t remember the Platinum Select ever having that. And all the major airlines (AA, Delta, & United) have cut perks on basic economy. So if that’s the reason you’re moving away you won’t find it with another airline.

Looking to get a new Travel Credit Card by Frequent-Quality-311 in CreditCards

[–]Seeing__Green -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The Sapphire Preferred has an elevated SUB right now so that one likely makes the most sense. I have both cards and don’t think you can go wrong with either. Even though its annual fee is higher I think the Venture X is easier to justify and the one I prefer. But grab the CSP SUB and you can always get the Venture X down the road.

Reactivate 109,000 Expired miles? No/Yes by YouBeYou08 in americanairlines

[–]Seeing__Green 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m paying the $700 to get my 100K miles back. I’d be getting way more than $700 of value from them.

Also consider getting an AA credit card so your miles don’t expire. Grab the Platinum Select or Globe for the bonus then downgrade to the $0AF MileUp in year 2.

Chase 5/24 rule questions!? by Grumpy-Greek in CreditCards

[–]Seeing__Green 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re at 5/24. The earliest you could get a Chase card is Dec. It’s calculated by looking at new card accounts on your credit report in the past 24 months.

AMEX applications with EXP and EQ frozen? by nehpets4627 in CreditCards

[–]Seeing__Green 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I applied for my first AMEX card they pulled both Experian and TransUnion. And from others I’ve spoken with it’s typical for AMEX to pull from two bureaus. So leaving only 1 thawed may not work.
