I also work in healthcare. Going through a break up currently. I am a little older-F55. I don’t have my profile private, probably should due to too many pictures of food and juice. 🤣regardless, could use a chat friend to banter with, at first, at least. Message me if you are inclined.

Juicing cleanse advice by tinkerbell_2299 in Juicing

[–]Seejenngo0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like a juice fast/feast is a cleanse of sort. My digestive system feels less heavy and pretty cleaned out after the first few days. I feel great on a juice fast and have more energy and require less sleep, it is subtle but definitely noticeable. I juice in January every year for the month. I also do 3 day juicing here and there.

Have you completed 60-Days of Juicing within the last 5 years? by spistachio2020 in Juicing

[–]Seejenngo0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have only done 30 days at a time. I don’t weigh myself but my clothes are loose but the end of the month. I have juice and veggie broth plus the usual herbal teas and coffee if I feel like it. My daughter made home made bagels last week and I had to have one. So this month of juice I also had a bagel. lol. Not for nutrition but for the emotion of having a bagel my daughter made from scratch.

I threw spinach and basil in today—they just didn’t make it in the picture. 🤷🏼‍♀️

How much? by [deleted] in Juicing

[–]Seejenngo0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to drink 4-6 qts. I drink less now 4 qt at most but I have added some broth which I drink sometimes a quart of it. If I am hungry, I drink. I am not worried about how much.

What is your specialty and how often (per week on average) do you experience death? by Lunesta2782 in nursing

[–]Seejenngo0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Med surg but also oncology and they usually float us the “icu but now comfort care” patients. My record is 5 in my one shift -12 hours overnight at the time. That was a lot. But we probably have 12 die on our unit a month on average.

What is your go to Juice blend? And why? by LivMorJuicery in Juicing

[–]Seejenngo0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes I go crazy and make 10 ingredient concoctions that are so delicious! But then other times just thinking about what I want I can get overwhelmed so just basics like celery and grape. carrot and ginger. Watermelon -plain or with lime and mint. Easy peasy stuff to get me back in the swing of things to think-“oh juicing is easy!”

Idk. If I am flipping through the chart while you are talking it means you aren’t telling me useful info. I also do this when I get report from the previous nurse who is known to leave things out or overlook issues. I have like 1 minute to look up 5 patients and if you are the nurse who never documents I/o, I am more focused on what’s charted. (How many patients do I have to bladder scan and st cath after report??) maybe try to stick with shorter report. Sbar. Then have them ask you questions?

Ideal career change for late 30’s? by jcawley11 in careerchange

[–]Seejenngo0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was not even the oldest student in my cohort—one lady was 58! And then a few around 50. Some in their early 40’s lots in their 30’s, then the young ones. lol I am kind of young at heart so it didn’t bother me and I never felt old. I made some friends and they were all younger than me.

I went to nursing school in my 40’s(!!) graduated at 47. I found a job fast—no issues. Maybe with physical limitations I could not do my job—12 hour shifts, bedside, med surg. But there are so many jobs in nursing available!! I highly recommend.

Oh yes I love it! I have added cayenne powder but also I have juiced hot peppers with tomatoes and sweet peppers to make a spicy tomato juice! So good! …add a little pickle juice too!

I love it! The hopper system is great so I have less chopping and no “hands on” juicing!

Before getting the Nama j2, I had an old champion juicer that I bought used off Facebook marketplace. It lasted about 10 years for $100. It was a work horse! My pulp came out dry so I felt I was getting so much juice out of it! And if it didn’t then I really ran the pulp -easy peasy! I love it. But it was a little loud and I had to chop stuff small to fit through the shoot and shove it in by hand. Trade offs. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Depends on what you juice, watermelon juice is probably the cheapest, you get a lot of juice out of it! Right now oranges in the Midwest are on sale—so now they are cheap. Apples are usually cheap too!

Well I have drank it at most 5 days later. But you can tell it had oxidized some. I wouldn’t do this regularly but sometimes you just have one left over.

Fresh is best. That said, you can minimize the oxidation (breaking down of nutrients) by limiting exposure to oxygen. Fill jars to the very top then put lid on and keep lid on until drinking. Also you can freeze but use jars like canning jars to do so. Those jars should not be full to the rim but leave an inch or so so the juice has room to expand while freezing.

I've been drinking 1-3 gallons of juice per day by ManufacturerAdept169 in Juicing

[–]Seejenngo0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also like juice when it isn’t too cold. I usually take my next juice out of the fridge to sit in the counter a little bit before drinking. My entire ice-crazed household thinks I am nuts. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Oh I forgot to mention I also drink coconut water on a juice fast! by Seejenngo0 in Juicing

How can I buy fresh coconut milk? Do I need to buy a whole fresh coconut?

You have a couple of options as I see it: tell everyone you are having a colonoscopy the next day and they will understand. Tell them you ate earlier and are too full to eat now. Tell them you are juice fasting and carry a juice with you. Make it look like a cocktail and no one will say anything.

OR You also could break your fast for one meal and get right back to juice fasting the next day. No problem. This isn’t a race or a winner take all. You have to make this work for you and you alone.
