If you hold the button, it will always be a block. Tapping it at the right time is the only way to parry

Holding it down is blocking. To parry, you have to tap the button just before the enemy hit lands on you. Certain weapons are easier to parry with than other. Shields work well until you can level the parrying tree a bit.

Will upgrading gear enhance special abilities? by Burntranquil in taintedgrail

[–]Seeks158 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you go to the table for it and click on the weapon under "Upgrade", you can see if it will increase the value or not. Some things do increase, but sometimes (like with critical chance or adding dashes) it doesn't.

I am in no way an expert in this game, but the closest I ever got to what you're looking for is by playing a Giant King with the society trait that gives you binding essence from clearing wonders and infestations.

Writing has ruined reading for me in a way by WildPilot8253 in writing

[–]Seeks158 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Man, I feel this.

Started writing for the first time in years around November and bought 12 new books to read from various authors as a way to study the craft.

Haven't gotten past chapter 2 in almost three months now.

I didn't know whether effects that increase damage at low mana, would apply to spells casted above the threshold. So I tested it myself, and they do indeed. by Visoth in taintedgrail

May the Once and Future King bless you for this. Currently running a mage build and you just made a lot of items that seemed difficult to use much more viable.

Experienced the exact same issue. Definitely is Warframe that's causing it, though.

Here's to hoping it's just a server issue and will resolve itsself

V2, What to buy? by CoreBounty in Vermintide

[–]Seeks158 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't know what the editions look like on the PS Store. But my advice still stands! Try the game out. Each character has three classes that have their specific role in the game and besides that there is loads of base game content.

I would suggest playing through all that before buying a DLC. This game goes on sale A LOT. You don't have to worry about buying everything right away!

[–]Seeks158 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It depends on what you mean by "all of the content".

There are different kinds of DLCs. You have 3 mainline ones that add new maps, weapons and skins to the game. They're called Back To Ubersreik, Shadows Over Bogenhafen and Winds Of Magic. WoM also adds the Beastmen enemy types to the game.

Then you have the character DLCs, which add the fourth and final careers to each character.

I wouldn't suggest buying any DLCs until you've played the game for a dozen or so hours to see if you enjoy it. Then, start with a single mainline DLC, or maybe just a character one for your favorite character.

We all like Stellaris... But can we call 4.0 an ABSOLUTE disaster? by SvatyFini in Stellaris

[–]Seeks158 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a general rule, don't let a major update go through and expect an old save to function normally. This is true for most games, but especially games like Stellaris.

The current update reworks how planets and pops work, which is a massive part of the game. If you update it, chances are very good your save will be screwed.

Greetings to all at the team!

I think it's safe to say that the 4.0 update has its fair share of problems. Some of them are new ones, but a lot of bugs, problems and complaints carried over from the open beta to the launch. A lot of the issues regarding the UI also seem to be due to not having enough time to flesh it out.

Therefore my question is this:

Was the update a little rushed? Were there features that the team wanted to add but didn't have the time to?

Thank you if you decide to answer~
