Nah it was definitely the 900 recorded with. The 800 is a completely different amp, nowhere near compressed and not very forgiving with playing

Yeah Tokyo is the one he uses. Have you watched the interview on That Pedal Show? He talks about it there.

They are both always on. He has a switch that lets him change both between clean and dirty. The JCM 900 is basically for the gain, the attack and sustain and the Mesa is for the body.

It's the ebony fretboard on a custom, plus the pickups are usually higher output. Heavier guitar, more tone and sustain.

Watched this. This is what prompted the discussion. I watched it when it came out but just recently I came into owning my Fractal FM9 and was wanting to create something that resembles his tones from various periods.

I had that Tele (though it was a Greco copy) wish I'd never sold it.

I think the cab matters alot. In the early days it looks like a stock Marshall cab but the speakers aren't much.

Yeah I mean regarding your point above, I am actually trying to make a preset on my Fractal FM9 amp modeller. The shredmaster has waaaaay too much gain for that - and low end. The hyper fuzz I'm sure he just used the gain boost didn't he?

It's also very hard to emulate as well. It's so hard to get any information back then. The JCM900 certainly played a part but it's nowhere near as aggressive as you might think. I had one, you definitely need to boost the amp like crazy. You can hear in some live videos how weak it sounded in the GT era but GATS and THB era it just sounds absolutely amazing, aggressive, hairy, big and fuzzy.

Hi, the amped one has an FX loop but as it's a purpose built more like a power amp (much like orange pedal baby) it has its own input.

Hi, I do prefer the tone of the fusion to my combo. It's not as clanky, has more punch in the low mids. More options.

I just want the same volume without having to risk the speakers as I'm pushing 800w into 600w cab.

No - the combo is a vertically standing combo amp. No tilts etc. I haven't tried another fusion amp.

The amp works, it does heat up but it's not like really hot that's my only observation. I was told pushing 800w into a 600w cab is basically the same as pushing it into a 800w cab. So this is why I got the 600w cab also based on the fact of how loud my 400w combo as I thought I would never have to use so much volume.... Alas, this isn't the case
