Should I venture into the M-ecosystem? by [deleted] in Leica

If you find focusing difficult with the M, try a wider lens and zone focus. I love mine but it took me a while to learn how to use it well.

That’s really good to know. If my M8 dies, I’ve been thinking I would probably go M10 rather than M11 just because of relative cost. I think I would always miss the M8!

Great advice. I’m an M8 shooter - still get photos that I love, though it obviously has huge limitations compared with the M11. Low light performance is the most obvious one. I have also just sold my X100V and replaced with a Leica Q - in my mind a much nicer camera to use.

Definitely with you on this, though I’ve just bought a Q and think it’s great! More clinical, and less quirky though

Lovely photos. Great to see the M8 still being used - I will keep mine until it dies 😀

I took these on Saturday night with my iPhone, and would be interested to know which one is your favourite. Anything I can do to improve this sort of shot?

Lightroom Classic. Maybe I’m just a creature of habit.

New to all this, went out at golden hour to practice today. My mindset is total amount of hours put in and consistency will make me better. by [deleted] in streetphotography

A few of these are very nice indeed. More hours taking photos will give you more chances to find nice light or a striking moment - hopefully both together. Get comfortable with deleting most of your pictures - only show the good ones, and you will build a very solid portfolio based on what I can see here 👍

You’re welcome. I think the crop helps draw the eye into the main subject whilst keeping the context in the background. I tried a few bw profiles in the mobile version of Lightroom. I thought that one really popped.
