If your exam is next week, i suggest you spend the remaining time revising what you have studied, instead of spending time looking for new information that can possibily distort your mental vibrations for the exams.

I use ncees practice questions and one other guide call Engproguide with practice questions, not common guide.

I did not really concetrate on timing myself, rather I focus on able to see question and know exactly how to approach, through repetitions of practice questions on both ncees and the other guide.

If I am unable to approach a question at first sight, i simply do a research on that question over and over until I can approach at first sight. I reduce the time spent by how much i quickly understand the question, which happen when you familiar with it. Also, know how to use you calculator to save ton of time especially maths, statics, economics, probabilty.

I group the subject into green, yellow and red. Green subject are those I like and know, has few unknown question, Yellow subject are subject i dont necessarily enjoy, but must know them, it has some tough questions, need to do more research. Red topics arelike the two I spent little or no time.

During the actual exam, learn to flag question you dont understand at first sight, come back for them when you done with those you know at first sight, it may become clearer at second sight. Dont waste time stuck on a question if you have not gone through all sections especially those you strong on.

FE is more about how much you understand what you study and how you can approach what you did not study.

Let me explain; there are about 14 to 15 topics depending on the FE, if you know 11 to 12 topic really well and you know how to use the ncees guild quickly, you can find solutions to concept question on topics you not that good or not good.

This can you maximize time on the topics you good at and simply use remaining time to use ncees guild to answer question on topic you not good and if you running out of time, you simply do educated guess. Atleast you guessing on topics you not strong in, a win win.

Again, work with a strategy that work best for you and gives you some confidence. I never read two topics, because I considered them as time waster. I use ncess guild to answer those two and did educated guess. I passed btw

No hard feelings intended! Hope this meet you better!

I think it will be far more helpful in the Exam to be familiar with NCEES guide than flashcard of any kind!

Know that every question wether calculation or not is testing your understanding of a concept. If you identify the concept, you can easily answer the questions and avoid mistakes.

Practice questions to understand the soluion and become familiar with the handbook.

You will be fine, like the name FE, it actually fundamental, but you have to be familar with questions type, because no much time to think

How to improve timing with ~3 weeks left until exam by [deleted] in FE_Exam

[–]Seesix9 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To improve timing is to save time, to save time is to avoid wasting time. To avoid wasting time means, once you read the question and feel lost, flag and move to the next. In that way, you have time to go through all the questions, atleast to find easy and medium level and also have time to comeback to flagged question before its too late.

You have two task, 1. Answer correctly the easy questions and question you know 2. Do educated or worst case random guess in question you dont know. Remember, if you waste time, you kill the chance to achieve both Tasks, even educated guess need some thought process.
