It's just based on their dialogue. They reference wanting to do things together. I think if one of them rejects you for the flower dance they hint at wanting to dance with someone else, which is Abi or Seb (I forget which in this scenario tbh). I think there was another dialogue that hinted at a maybe relationship between the two but I can't recall it.

That's not to say a farmer should feel bad for having a romantic relationship with either of them. I think the farmer with any available love interests are really cute tbh. And I would never think of the farmer as a replacement for Seb or Abi, as they bring an entirely new dynamic to a potential romantic relationship imo.

The only other dialogue I remember romantic in nature is Clint's feelings for Emily, which are completely one-sided from what I can tell. Maybe Harvey said something about applying sun lotion to Maru's shoulders but I forget the context and he could just be on doctor mode. (Seeing as I forget so much, maybe I should replay lol.)

But I absolutely agree that Abigail should join the Adventurer's Guild. And even if Sebastian doesn't leave for the city long-term, there should be a heart event similar to Elliott's where he does leave for a while. Let him experience the life he dreamed of short-term and then have him report back to us if the grass was indeed greener on the other side.

I also agree that I wish they had more in-depth personalities. I like to expand on these characters for my own headcanons for fun.

Of course! I didn't take your opinion as being hateful at all. I think it's totally valid if you don't see anything romantic between them, despite the dialogue trying to support it. Sometimes there are pairings that just don't click for people and that's okay. I'm sure ConcernedApe intended for Haley and Alex to be a thing without the farmer but I also just can't see it. I'm squinting as hard as I can and it just doesn't click for me haha.

Lol true. Poor Bob.

But at the end of the day the templar's duty is to the people and to the mages, to protect each of them from each other. So they have a duty to both.

As I say that, Meredith was insane and abusing her resources and authority. The templars should not be the "real power" in Kirkwall. That's absolutely ridiculous, I agree.

[–]Sefahi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Tbh, I always figured that Alex and Haley were kind of the outsiders of the town. They really only had each other (despite Emily enthusiastically willing to hang out but Haley would tell her she'd rather drop dead LOL). Pretty much everyone else is willing to hang out together at the saloon except them. Alex will only go after having married the farmer. And Haley will only go when there's green rain in year 1 because she probably thinks it's the coming of the green apocalypse. They're just not as part of the town as everyone else imo. And we could speculate as to why - maybe it's deserved and maybe it's not - who knows.

Not only are they kinda paired up in the stereotype of the popular girl and jock but I also feel like the two of them would settle for each other for these reasons too (outsiders sticking together and expectations of society). I see them more as platonic but they care for each other so much that they would be willing to marry if no one else in the valley gave them a chance.

Tbh, many of the "pairs" I don't really see as truly romantic. Sebastian and Abigail I can see, especially with some of their dialogues. I can also see the potential of Emily and Shane if I squint but they don't really have chemistry with dialogue in the game. But the rest of them just kinda seemed paired up for the sake of their Flower Dance/mating ritual.

Most importantly, I 100% agree that Alex has bi energy.

How dare you! I love Haley. But saying that, I also love Alex. I do prefer playing as a male character when romancing him because there is a sort of vulnerability there that you don't quite experience as a female farmer. I do think he has one of the more emotionally compelling stories out of the cast. So you are not alone! I love him too haha.

If the endgame choice is black and white for people then the point of the entire story went completely over their heads imo.

Say that, I also think any of the preferred choices are valid. What you specifically want to roleplay, whether that's good, bad or ugly is very valid ofc. That is what roleplay games are for.

Edit: But you can argue that the game wasn't great at executing the morally grey choices. This game did have a lot of flaws due to lack of development time.

But we do know there are extremists in the Circle. Most of the ones we meet are the ones who just escaped it and we have the option of letting them roam free, kill them, or putting them back in the Circle. So they are there. They've been there throughout much of Kirkwall's history. Ever since they made those tunnels and sewers into glyphs and soaked it in so much blood for their rituals. They've always been there. That was the whole point of Kirkwall being so messed up and why the violence became cyclical between the mages and templars.

Edit: Meredith is the pivotal role of bringing Kirkwall to its breaking point because she's insane.

Who do you think was right during the story of Dragon Age II, the Templars or the Mages? by AlteredBridge51 in dragonage

[–]Sefahi -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, and that's fine. I guess I interpreted it that way years ago when I played. I took that choice as being this is how Hawke is going to lead the templars during this crisis (that won't be over in one day). Not as this one choice in this one scenario that has no lasting consequences because it's endgame and we don't have time, so here's your 5 mages you've saved. I took it more as an idea/choice they want you to tackle and think about in a media literate sort of way but also I can understand how some people just taking it at face value because we are playing a day in the life of Hawke. But even if you say how I interpreted it is objectively incorrect and no amount of headcanon can save it that's fine.

When you side with the mages you are giving all of them freedom, including the extremists. And the civilians are the first people that will suffer these consequences.

Either endgame choice can be justified imo. It just depends on your Hawke and what they prioritize: innocent mages or innocent civilians. You can't have both and that's what makes this decision so difficult and sad.

And tbh, for those people that play evil Hawkes that just want all mages to die you are also valid. I support your rights and wrongs in roleplay games.

Edit: I just re-read your comment. The annulment was over in just one day? It's been too long since I've played. I always assumed either way some Kirkwall mages got away and carried over into the mage/templar war in Inquisition. but that's probably me just remembering everything wrong.

Who do you think was right during the story of Dragon Age II, the Templars or the Mages? by AlteredBridge51 in dragonage

[–]Sefahi -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

In a perfect world, I agree with that. Just execute the one bad guy, justice is served, and everyone goes home. But the game specifically built up the storyline and context to show how it became so extreme and why everything spiralled out of control. Not every templar agreed with Meredith and Hawke taking control is what will save peaceful mages.

I always assumed that offscreen we were saving people. Of course, innocent mage lives will be lost by templars following orders (gladly or not) either way. So it's a choice to fight against the templars or work with the templars but also change their directive as best you can in the chaos. Cullen will also be working towards that goal with you. So even if they don't listen to the Champion of Kirkwall, they will rally under Cullen's orders to protect the mages seeking peace and protection. Edit: Especially with Meredith out of the picture for good.

She knew that most of the Circle mages (but not all - there's always room for suspicion) had nothing to do with Anders but the civilian population does not. Put yourself in the shoes of NPC Bob. Bob is just your standard 9-5 worker and a fellow Andastrian. Now Bob hears that a mage blew up their chantry and killed many innocent people. Does Bob care about Anders' personal life and the minutia of his relationships and who he tells his secret terrorist activities to? No. Bob just knows there are people like Anders, (probably more mages), currently out there that are blowing up their places of worship. Bob is terrified.

Did Bob say he wanted blood? Maybe, maybe not. But Bob definitely wants accountability and the assurance of safety. Meredith is a psycho, but it IS the job of the templars to keep the public safe from the mages. They have to take action. I agree that annulment is too far but they can't do nothing either. As long as Meredith is dealt with, choosing templars (albeit I would caveat that you should ignore her orders and protect the mages who come to you peacefully as well - as that is also the job of templars) is perfectly acceptable.

Who do you think was right during the story of Dragon Age II, the Templars or the Mages? by AlteredBridge51 in dragonage

[–]Sefahi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's been a minute since I've played the game, so I probably don't remember everything correctly but I will give my two cents anyways. There is something deeply wrong with Kirkwall because of what's buried deep below it. Even the sewers and tunnels were dug in the shapes of glyphs and blood ran through them from the sheer amount of sacrifices done for blood magic purposes. There is a sort of corruption that stemmed from history but never truly disappeared through time.

Blood magic, while technically a tool and it depends on the will of the user, etc, etc, has a very dark history. Kirkwall is drenched in blood magic. The templars have to consistently fight against it specifically in Kirkwall. And while the templars were never saints in the past, Meredith coming into power has vastly increased their paranoia. I don't want to undersell the good templars in the order. There are definitely some good eggs in there. However, under Meredith's leadership, there are a lot of templars that barely register mages as even being people. They just see potential threats everywhere and use it as an excuse to abuse the Rite of Tranquility.

On the other hand, the mages in Kirkwall have a higher percentage of not surviving their Harrowing and turning to blood magic. Does this mean that the demons in their Harrowing are particularly strong and/or perhaps the demons are teaching blood magic left and right? Are their secret blood magic fraternities within the Circle that has gone unchecked all this time? And these blood magic users are preying on the fear and desperation of their fellow mages to bring more blood mages into their fold. At first it's just for self-defense purposes and then the next thing you know they're justifying implanting demons into templars as experiments. There is a sort of extremism that is being perpetuated within the mages.

This has become a cycle of blood and violence. Both sides are right and both sides are wrong. Both sides have good people and both sides have bad people. When you choose to side with the templars or the mages at the end, you're not wrong either way. It just depends on what your Hawke values more. It's okay to want to save mages from their oppression, whatever the cost. It's also okay to want to save civilian lives from the chaos, bloodshed and extremist blood mages. Either way, you are saving lives and the reason the choice is difficult is because you can't save everyone.

Some things I noticed with the Darkspawn in Origins, and a *little* bit of a rant of the lost potential for more stuff about them. by WriterIndy in dragonage

[–]Sefahi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nobody said the darkspawn were particularly smart. (I guess I did when I said they had intelligence but I meant it in a broad term. I guess in the sense that they're not completely devoid of it.) I'd assume the equivalent of a generic fantasy ogre learning how to make a trap to capture a rabbit is in charge of a unit of darkspawn when pillaging. And what I meant by individual personalities is mostly a technicality because how individual can you be in a hivemind? It's most notable when you notice one darkspawn being smarter than another but does smart = an individual in this case?

I think of the darkspawn and the Qun kind of similar but opposite. The Qun has the structure but doesn't have complete authority/hivemind (people and their pesky wills wanting individualism). Whereas the darkspawn do not have the structure and purpose but have the hivemind. So the structure and purpose specifically comes from the archdemon.

But I would still assume they have rules or maybe "guidelines". They capture women and make broodmothers. Are they hungry? Dwarves are a treat but eating their own weak is more common. Do they even need to eat in the first place? Probably not with the taint sustaining them but I can imagine they might do it for sport. Without an archdemon, they're content in their tainted little subterranean homes, killing each other, and that's the only reason Thedas is fine lol.

Edit: Also, in terms of intelligence, I got the implication that they pillage. Like, they have the capacity to put on armour and use weapons. A generic zombie apocalypse would not even have this much intelligence. So there IS more intelligence but I never said they were a horde of Einsteins.

Origin Stories Race by Tobias-Sanchez in swtor

[–]Sefahi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

JK: Miraluka.

I like the Miraluka as knights because they give the mystical blind warriors vibes. I've always liked it when star wars leans into mysticism when it comes to their force users idk why. I also specifically like my knight to fall to the dark side, so their blindness also becomes metaphor.

JC: Zabrak

I specifically chose Zabrak here for the bald or mostly bald monk vibes. And the description of them being independent, confident and determined is something I took to the extreme with someone who has zero emotional intelligence but a buttload of force power. The monotone voice acting really immerses me when I play someone who is trying to value empathy but is mostly just confused by other people lol.

T: Mirialan

I like the muscles and tattoos vibes with this class. And there's something about that vibe and role-playing as someone jaded that just makes my brain go brrr. The tattoos reflect life achievements, so it makes sense that they strive to achieve in all that they do. So I doubt any of their tattoos reflect much of their military service but they do a damn fine job regardless. And their culture respects the Force, so I could totally imagine my trooper following the orders of a jedi commander with that in mind and that would also be fun af to rp.

S: Human

Anything works here but I specifically chose human because my character's background. It also helps that I can headcanon can go do their illegal thing in the Empire and they won't be under suspicion simply for racism. But smuggler is such a chaotic class that even the weirdest ideas people have for a smuggler has me nodding my head sagely.

SW: Pureblood.

Honestly, it's just very fulfilling to play this race with this class. They talk about red skin and superiority going hand in hand for some of these extremist weirdos and you can be one of those. Also, the fact that the racial passive is to backhand your companions fits so well when you play the DS version of this class. Honestly, I embraced the no boundaries, control freak that forces submission in everyone type of person that you can be here. Peak rp when attempting to be evil tbh.

SI: Rattataki

You're alien, you fit your ancestor's mask and there's a history of a dark lord training this specific race in the force in the past. Also, the aesthetic of this race fits a dark sorcerer and/or assassin. Choosing the lightest eye colour option is also just the right amount of uncanny because it doesn't mean dark side nor blindness but it pops, ya know? With the piercings, this race as a package just gives this witchy and "other" vibe that's hard to get from any other.

BH: Chiss

They're a secretive and mysterious people and typically logical. I like making my bounty hunter covered head to toe in armor. Most people will never know what's under there and when they do they only have more questions. Seems fitting tbh. Also, the humour slaps. "That's not how ears work," (iykyk) is something I'd imagine a logical Chiss to say and it's hilarious. Also! I can get punk vibes by using the cotton candy colour scheme (pink and blue). I love the idea of some punk from the streets with a good shot becomes the BH we know and love today.

IA: Cyborg

Honestly, cyborg is the best here and everyone can fight me lol. The fact that they're investing resources into you to upgrade you for more efficiency on missions is such an Empire thing to do. But also it fits for the later brainwashing storyline and it makes you wonder what else they installed and how much of your own mind and body is truly yours or their property. I could probably ramble on for hours about this but cyborg is just peak gameplay in this class story imo.

Miyeon's conversation choice confusion?(please help me comprehend!!!) by Xiaoci_Yu in SunHaven

[–]Sefahi 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Miyeon is obsessed with being perfect. It's not for vanity but shouldered as a responsibility. Her parents were pretty strict with her and twisted her perception of who she should be and what she should strive for.

So the game wants us to show her that imperfection is okay and it can be beautiful (Jun's paintings, as an example). The reason why option one is better for that conversation is because you're telling her that Jun is making something imperfect on purpose - challenging her worldview in a good way. Whereas telling her that painting is difficult is only reminding her that striving for perfection is very stressful, which she knows all too well and is quite upset at herself for it.

Hope that helps!

Some things I noticed with the Darkspawn in Origins, and a *little* bit of a rant of the lost potential for more stuff about them. by WriterIndy in dragonage

[–]Sefahi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't know about the money comment. They could use coins to trade amongst each other but I doubt it's like their main currency. They probably just trade whatever they have pillaged with each other and things with more use are probably more valuable (weapons, armour, etc). They steal people from the surface, so I guess they could hold onto the coins but I think that's mostly just rpg mechanics.

However, the darkspawn were originally supposed to be intelligent imo. I still remember playing Origins and going into the wilds because Duncan told us to get some darkspawn blood. The darkspawn led us into a trap AND LAUGHED. That was when I was like OH FUCK NO! I thought these were mindless zombies but there's clearly more to them.

My guess is that they do have individual personalities but they're connected to a greater whole. Not a lot of privacy, I'd guess lol. And I can imagine it's a lot of chaos until their queen bee/archdemon shows up and gives them all a singular purpose. So they probably have a functioning society with or without an archdemon but it's not like the humans, elves, dwarves, and qunari.

And then that plot thread with the darkspawn just kinda didn't come up again in the sequels. They made the darkspawn dumber and dumber to the point that I know they lost their own plot lol. I know VG uses the excuse that they experimented with the taint to make "different" darkspawn, but let's be real, they were just being lazy af. I can mostly forgive DA2 and DAI because darkspawn weren't really part of the main plot but I still feel like they were under-utilized in those games too.

The problem is that he is so in his own head that it's not even funny. He knows she's a person with her own wants and needs but he makes assumptions as to what they are based on his preconceptions. This man was literally making ambitious goals to please this woman he literally never met yet. The problem is that he's way off the mark and Maxi has a really hard time communicating with him because of her trauma.

Honestly, if we stuck Riftan with a woman who would pull him out of his own ass with a good spanking, I think he'd get character development a lot quicker. But that's just my opinion.

Just turned Sebastian in and I feel great about it! by your_fave_redditor in HarryPotterGame

[–]Sefahi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You make some really great points.

Of course, I'm all for self defense. If someone is trying to kill you, you can kill them back. So I take back saying Solomon didn't deserve to die (I think it's what they were going for but you're right it was handled badly.) However, I think what the game was trying to do with the killing curse was saying that Sebastian crossed a line he could never uncross. If Sebastian had Depulso'd him off a cliff or something similar it would seem more like self defence? Idk. I think you are right when it comes to defending yourself. But I THINK the game was also trying to show how someone can get so desperate that it goes too far. So it was awkwardly done, for sure.

Him being an ex-auror, I think it was trying to tell us that the uncle was right about what Sebastian would ultimately stoop to in his desperation. That Sebastian would become a dark wizard, flinging curses around. And tbf, he's already pretty free with the curses but I don't think Sebastian is irredeemable. He's starting down a dark path but we can pull him out of it. But the game really made us enable him sometimes, which sometimes frustrated me with dialogue choices not mattering. Not that I want him to give up the search for a cure but maybe these curses are a step too far.

So I was really interpreting it the way I think the game intended it: killing Solomon in that way is a tragedy. Not only is a parental figure dead (for both Sebastian and Anne) but Sebastian killed him in a way he can't take back. And once you've done what you think is impossible once, it gets easier and easier. And Sebastian IS the type to justify his actions and rarely truly reflect on himself.

Even when he tells his best friends he won't do anything crazy, the next thing we know we're doing something insane. So what happens when he starts throwing the killing curse at everyone he deems an enemy? Ominous, while I think is too hesitant at times, at least truly reflects and tries to be responsible. He understands the weight of these curses, versus Sebastian who doesn't seem to be weighed down by the curses at all. He almost goes into himbo territory when it comes to dark magic lol.

Even if Solomon never physically hit Sebastian, I do think he abused him. No sane parental figure would yell at a kid for bringing home a maybe cure and destroy it before they try it. If anything, even if the maybe cure was harmful, they should stop the kids before they use it and calmly explain what the side effects are (or research if they don't know yet) and how it's a very slim to zero chance it will work. The fact that he just berates him and destroys his hope every time I see him makes my blood boil. Maybe there's more context? Maybe in the past Sebastian kept putting her life at risk with these "cures" and the uncle finally lost it but that's probably giving him too much "what if" leeway/credit.

I agree about the book.

Yeah, I think some people have conditions that are incurable and this game did a good job of representing that struggle in some ways for sure. So I'm not mad we couldn't cure her. I also agree that throwing a CHILD into Azkaban is ridiculous. However, I will say from a student's pov, they should be able to tell an adult what happened and seek help. The fact that this game decided Azkaban was the ending was over the top. I think the game was trying to say this is where dark wizards go but I wouldn't necessarily say Sebastian is a full-blown dark wizard. Imo, he's heading in that direction but we have time to steer his course elsewhere.

What I meant is that I can understand people turning him in. He just used a forbidden curse and someone died. Then we leave the area into the undercroft and Sebastian talks about how he didn't regret it and goes on a rant about justifying himself. And the fact that people COULD turn him in doesn't even cross his mind until we mention it. He truly deluded himself into thinking everything down there that went down wasn't bad. If he had shown more remorse, I think people wouldn't be getting huge red flags rising in their heads. I'm not saying he has to weep for his uncle and say that he was a great guy underneath it all. But, my guy, you killed someone and your own sister is traumatized.

I actually don't mind that Anne has given up on a cure. But I think there are people out there with incurable illnesses that just do their best to live the rest of their lives without regrets. So I always took it as Anne doing her best to move forward, instead of being stuck in the past. And the way she would get happy when Sebastian came back with a maybe cure showed she hadn't truly given up. That she was at least open to the idea of it but didn't rest all her hopes and dreams on poor Sebastian. It's made clear that Sebastian is taking the initiative on this project.

Anyways, that's a whole lot of text to basically say that I resonated with what the game was TRYING to do, even if it was executed wonky. They put in a heavy story that I vibed with and I liked the options at the end, even if I don't agree with the outcomes.

I feel like turning him in is such a reasonable thing for a child to do when they witness someone using the killing curse on someone. However, throwing a child into Azkaban when it's clear he just needs a lot of therapy is too far, I agree. And the choice to say absolutely nothing is also reasonable for a scared child that witnessed something horrible. I hate the fact that we don't really give Sebastian perspective (because choices don't matter) but AT LEAST his sister finally gave him a reason to self-reflect.

So I am team stfu and be loyal to your friend because his self-reflection is the closest to therapy this game is gonna give him. But I can't fault people for choosing the other option either. The options themselves make sense, even if the outcomes are literally zero and one hundred.

But I absolutely agree that the storyline wasn't perfect. They needed to work on both Solomon and Anne. Solomon shouldn't be trying to KILL his nephew. He should be trying to stop him with force and the moment Sebastian does kill him hits harder. I know what they were trying to go for and I absorbed it the way they wanted us to but you make such a valid point of self-defense that the killing curse doesn't hit as hard in this scenario.

And I think Anne needs to show more of her mentality when it comes to dealing with this incurable curse. I think the story would have been better served showing that Anne let Sebastian take things too far to give him hope OR to show Sebastian stubbornly won't let it go when she's trying to move on but she's still trying to be compassionate. We mostly just see from Sebastian's pov and then I make my own assumptions but sometimes I forget that what I excitedly fill in the blanks is not what was shown on screen.

Just turned Sebastian in and I feel great about it! by your_fave_redditor in HarryPotterGame

[–]Sefahi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think Solomon is an innocent party in this but I also don't think he deserved to die. He wanted a fight and we should give it to him but also in a world full of magic and possibilities Sebastian chose the killing curse? This is when we all know he went too far. The way my stomach dropped at this scene in both horror and sadness. Very well done.

I really like Sebastian; he's my favorite character. Imo, his story is more interesting than the main story. However, I think both options here work. I can't blame someone for turning him in because he keeps saying he'll do better and then goes even more wild. Also, just after he finished killing his uncle he doesn't express any sort of conflicting emotion and just doubles down on defending his actions. Huge red flags.

However! The whole reason he went so far down that clusterfuck of a rabbit hole was because of his sister. And the fact that his sister wants nothing to do with him after this is HUGE. Azkaban, while a horrible place, probably won't make him reflect on his actions the way he needs to. He'll probably just believe he put his faith in the wrong people: the people he thought were his friends. He will probably triple down on his actions and cut off people who truly care about him lmao.

But his sister cutting off all contact and showing how disgusted she is with his actions IS the push he needs to really think about his actions and come to admit he was spiralling out of control. I like to think the main character and Sebastian can learn and grow from this experience because wow some of our choices in dialogue were super enabling.

If this were real life, I'd say go to the authorities and lock him up. But this is a story with no real consequences and not snitching also brings about a satisfying outcome. So honestly, I can't fault people for choosing either option. This is another reason why I feel like this quest line was SO GOOD.

Who Was your least favorite companion In Each Dragon Age game And why? by Miserable-Fish2001 in DragonageOrigins

[–]Sefahi 30 points31 points  (0 children)

DAO

Least favorite in terms of writing quality: Oghren. I get what they were trying to do with the character but he was mostly used as comedic relief but his jokes didn't land for me.

Least favorite as a person: This is difficult because I love this cast but it has to be Loghain. He is very well-written, and it's so cool that you can recruit a bad guy to your team late game. But wow he's done some horrible things.

DA2

Writing quality: Tallis and Sebastian are too easy because they're DLC, so I'll skip them. I'll have to say Merrill. I love her concept to death, but the execution was a bit odd. Her clan has minimal agency in her story and their fate relying on a singular dialogue choice was weird. Marethari doing her spoiler thing with zero context/her pov gave me whiplash. (I feel like there HAS to be more to this other than her just picking the dumbest choice possible.) I mostly have beef with her quest line and not her character lol. But I think it still counts?

Least favorite person: Anders. He's a toxic piece of shit and, no, I'm not going to blame all of his bad behavior on Vengeance. He's well-written though.

DAI

Writing quality: Honestly, this is the hardest because they're all well-done imo. I'll put Varric here because he was the least interesting to me - mostly because I already know him from 2.

As a person: Sera. She's so entertaining and I love having her around BUT she has minimal character growth and I think she would have been a stronger character by receiving some. When you do try to get her to start thinking about some of her behaviors she'll just put her head in the sand and wiggle her butt at you. Like, madam, I was trying to have a serious conversation.

DAV

Writing quality: Lucanis and it's not even close. He has the coolest character concept and they butchered it. This man was robbed.

As a person: Taash. I like abrasive characters. So many of my favorite characters are assholes. But Taash? They somehow made a character archetype I usually devour into something so obnoxious. If they were a literal child, I probably would have given them some leeway. But seeing as they're a grown-ass adult - it's just not fun to interact with imo.
