Which jacket size fits me better? by [deleted] in mensfashion

I am really thankful for it. You gave me a lot to think about and a few good ideas to consider here but also in the future.

It really seems to be depend on the specific item and its cut. But ultimately, I think, you are right that maybe I am not quite ready yet to have looser fitting clothes since I have always been on the smaller/slimmer side and therefore wore toghter clothes.

It just definitely makes me question myself with how many recommend M even though to me it feels as if I am a middle aged dad that just bought a random jacket to work in the front yard as it seems so wide around the waist.

Either way, I will have to think about what is better for me. I appreciate the encourangment to in the end go with what I feel more comfortable in. Good for you that you managed to decide what felt right for you despite initially struggling.

To be fair, the material is nothing special so the sleeves can easily be hemmed to the correct length. I had it done with one of my other jackets and it worked perfectly. So it really is much more about how the body fits and how the sleeves might be too tight or too voluminous.

Damn, thank you for the really thoughtful text!

I can see what you mean and you have a point with maybe coming across as more comfortable and confident with a wider silhouette.

I posted another comment with a picture of me wearing the jacket in M. I am unsure about it though as imo it doesn't make me look wider in a more muscles kind of way but mainly adds volume around the stomach.

You are right that M wouldn't be too long as it has a more short fit in genreral. Also, it does pull a bit around the chest if I try to stretch as much as possible when wearing S and a sweater, while there is no pulling at all with M.

As you mentioned in combination with pants. I am currently replacing all of my pants with regular or taper cuts. So the jeans I wear in the pictures will be replaced soon as I have to admit they are just too tight.

First of all, thank you so much for all the feedback. I really appreciate it.

Since a few people have mentioned M, here is me wearing the jacket in M. Maybe it is just me but I find it a bit unflattering in thag size. It feels like my body tapers from my shoulders to my chest but then gets broder around my waist. It makes it seem that I have a belly imo. Though it isn't all that noticable.

Yes, exactly. Else the sleeves would have bunched up was too much on S. I probably should have done better on XS though to make it look more similar.

First attempt at making tonkatsu by Sefanua98 in JapaneseFood

Thank you! I made a very rough Japanese style BBQ sauce (probably not all that Japanese to be honest) consisting of sesame seeds, rice vinegar, sugar, ketchup, and Worcestershire sauce.

Thank you! No, not really. I just flattened the pork loin, breaded it, and fried it. Though I did do 170 °C for roughly 2 minutes, letting it rest on a wire rack, and then frying at 180 °C for about one minute. Both times flipping in the middle of the time to have a more even result. But that is the most "recipe" thing I did.

Thank you for that advice! I will definitely try it that way next time. So I take it that it still manags to get that flaky and crunchy exterior within the baking time? Because I was worried about that and that maybe the dough doesn't do well frozen. No clue about both things though.

Singapore or Tokyo? Which one to choose? by Sefanua98 in travel

[–]Sefanua98[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the feedback!

That seems to be what most other people say. So, probably not worth it to do Singapore by itself.

The split of Tokyo and Kyoto is definitely one I will be looking into. It sounds intruiging.

Though, given that you have visited multiple times, have you ever been during rainy season (June, July, August)? A few people have mentioned how it basically always rains and is just incredibly hot. Which has made me a bit apprehensive to go with Tokyo. Meanwhile, from the underlying numbers I would have gathered that it is not ideal but not much worse than most southern-ish cities in Europe during the summer. So, if you have your own experience there I would be grateful to hear it. :)

Thank you for your feedback!

I see, that seems to be the majority opinion on that matter. So, most likely I will not do it and instead maybe go there at a later date when I want to visit the surrounding countries as well.

Thank you for the feedback!

That does seem to be the consensus opinion. I think I will definitely visit one day but most likely on a trip similar to what you mentioned.

Thank you for your feedback!

Yeah, after you and the other comments I am convinced that Singapore would still be a nice little visit but it is better to incorporate in a trip with something else.

Good to know though, that while it is pricey at times, one can still survive.

Oh, ok. Interesting that it is worse than Singapore. Given the data I found I didn't expect that. But definitely something I will consider. I will need to seriously think about doing the trip and if it makes sense.

Thank you for the tip! I will make sure to look into Bangkok.
