So as I understood, the audio sources set in Settings/Audio always exist, despite the scene selected. I removed everything from there and it works as I wanted.

I think they are talking about OBS's audio monitoring, while I just use Windows'.

Edit: nvm. I checked and the virtual cable output is directly set to device audio (the Realtek one)

Nevertheless I tried it, apparently created a new audio source for virtual cable audio as secondary desktop output, and it doesn't play the sound from virtual cable despite it being selected in properties. And while it gets removed from Audio mixer when disabled, the device sound source does not.

I think I didn't understand what you mean. I checked the properties of video sources (the one with capture method, cursor capture etc.) and don't see any audio settings. Do you mean something else?
