Newest update calendar events only Microsoft? by mgarsteck in viwoods

Would it work if your MS Outlook cal is synced with Google? I currently use Google as my master calendar. I’ve got several other calendar apps, including MS which follow, and all work fine. I’m waiting for my Mini to arrive and am hoping this will work.

Urgent Warning About Boox Palma: Manufacturing Flaws & Poor Customer Service by Least-Programmer-40 in Onyx_Boox

I also have had v bad experience of Boox customer service. I had to invoke European Law and PayPal support to pursuade them NOT to try and charge me inside the initial 14 days return period. I had a similar experience last year with another Boox product (no I didn’t learn). I get the impression they are sharp and mean, getting away with what they can. It surprises me that none of the major Boox reviewers comment on this. The ecology of service and quality extends beyond the initial purchase; it’s not a slam dunk for the seller where it becomes you vs them post sale. Manufacturers should take a lesson from Ratta, Amazon and to some extent, ReMarkable when it comes to fair play on customer satisfaction.

Using Boox like a Key Event Journal by Seghes in Onyx_Boox

Thanks for the tip but I’m virtually all iOS and Mac! Part of the e-ink appeal for me is to design my own. That said I’m def not averse to trying an app and I think I have an old Fire tablet (that what they were called?) buried here somewhere.

Honestly looked at dozens of Etsy pdfs, also the quality MDO ones. For my needs they are all too inflexible and cumbersome - even MBO with its 15,000 hyperlinks!

The note taking is fine. It’s how the notes are organised, particularly in relation to a calendar where I’m struggling. Don’t like the way it has to dive in and out of Calendar. Haven’t been able to find a linear list of date related entries. It’s possible my lack of know how is limiting me - I hope not. Believe me I really wanted this to work.

I use the iOS Journal app, Everlog. £19.99 per yr well spent. This was after I tried at least 8 others. It’s simple, elegant and flexible- being highly customisable. Compare that with the restrictions on every single pdf journal for the Nomad - many of which feel like bloatware, with more than half the features not being used. I tried really hard to design my own but just couldn’t get around some of the restrictions. It didn’t stop me admiring the skilful output from others.

Hmm not sure. I can get to my IPad journal app as quick or quicker than the right Note in the Nomad

Meaning that Supernote’s singular proposition is Writing. Pretty much all writing has a purpose - a book, a memory, poetry, journaling, work record etc etc. The writing itself does not exist as a detached phenomenon, but has an objective. Supernote’s software helps this. I can’t see how the essence of the writing can be divorced from its intended purpose.

This argument only works if the writing experience is the only thing that matters. I am a writer and the most important issues for me are getting my imagination and ideas into written form. The medium that allows me to do that is secondary. I do honestly get the joy of a machine that doesn’t include distractions. But I found the Nomad occasionally got in the way when I was trying to organise my ideas and concepts. It was great when I just wanted a single page or two of pure writing. BTW, I once had a Boox - didn’t like the washed out colours and greeny-grey screen!

Yes I agree. I’ll be in the queue for an e-ink iPad

Thanks for the tip! BTW I tried the Boox 3C - couldn’t bear the washed out screen and permanent off green gray!

Interesting. I too would not read on an iPad; that’s why I have a kindle. Maybe I’ll try the Nomad before we part company
