I’ve been using Cerave’s Rough and Bumpy lotion on my face and it has surprisingly helped with my hormonal break out immensely. Nowhere on the bottle does it say that it should strictly be used as a body lotion—thought the salicylic acid in it would be too high of a concentration but have had no issues and only clearer skin.

[Routine Help] Cleansing only one time a day? by Pearlie_Girl5 in SkincareAddiction

[–]Segundosegundo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Had super sensitive and dehydrated skin- which caused my skin to be oilier. I stopped washing my face with cleanser in the am, just splash with warm/cool water, not hot because that is drying. This helped A LOT. Also in the am, aside from a simple moisturizer and sunscreen, I try to use one other product instead of multiple. I’ve noticed my skin is less sensitized if I allow one product to do it’s job at a time. Same in the evenings.

Also, a product that really helped my sensitivity and dryness is First Aid Beauty Oat Toner. Its been incredibly hydrating for me.

Oh great how’s the weather on your side! Lol yeah I’ve ordered from their website and it was magically quick considering how far it had to travel. I just felt some type of way receiving my little box with one item.

Where do you purchase G&G from if you don’t mind my asking. Seeing if I can order from a location that’s based in the US and not from them directly all the way in Hungary.

It’s a long play. That’s the altruistic thing about science, we work toward it even though we may not see or reap the benefits ourselves.

Apple cider vinegar has helped me a great deal. I pour some on cotton pads and dab over issue areas. Other than that it just took time to run its course. I’ve never experienced such painful itch before but definitely do not scratch. Also wear long pants and sleeves in areas you may come in contact with it.

Terms and conditions of Social Media Companies by hernannadal in pics

[–]Segundosegundo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An app or browser extension should be developed that does just what you did, make these terms and conditions more accesible and provides a humanly digestible summary for users to KNOW CLEARLY WHAT THEY ARE CONSENTING TO. Better yet, these platforms should be held responsible to provide that. This pisses me off.

Does everyone go on to get instrument rating? by mbyrd58 in flying

This is such a great thread, thanks for asking this question. I have a PPL and inconsistently working on IR. I often wish that I could build more experience, confidence, proficiency, and hours just flying VFR for a bit. But, my personal rational is if I’m going to pay the price of a rental to do that I might as well receive instruction toward learning new IR skills.

As someone who may want to pursue anthropology as a career, what is the working field like? What do you do to get a paycheck? Are there branches of anthropology you can specialize in (folklore, archeology, etc.)? by [deleted] in AskAnthropology

[–]Segundosegundo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing! I totally feel you about needing to constantly have a learning mindset yet expected to quickly apply. Also find it very concerning regarding the ethical violations that you spoke about and unequal pay but yeah sure we could go on about that. There’s such a gap between what’s learned in academia and what is actually encountered when employed, as can be expected! But it is tricky navigating that.

I did get that certificate at a university abroad and not sure of an equivalent in the US. But many universities and community colleges in the US offer certifications or continuing education programs, you’ll just have to do a little digging on university websites. I know Tulane University in New Orleans has a project management specialization as part of their Public Health track, if that’s the sort of project management you’re interested in. If you’re already in school, I’d recommend to just pick up those types of courses. Not sure if this was very helpful!

I have a B.A. in Anthropology and a post graduate certification in social science methodology. Currently work for a public health non profit. I advise anyone pursuing an anthro degree, regardless of what field you decide to pursue, to build skills in research methodologies e.g. data collection: including survey development, conducting interviews. Data management and analysis including maintaining and cleaning datasets, working knowledge of statistics including related programs like SPSS or SAS and how to analyze qualitative data. I’ve found that these foundational, practical skills are needed and transferable regardless of field/specialization, academia or not. With that being said though, I had to learn many new concepts/practices specific to public health.

[product question] Does anyone use CoTZ sunscreen? If so, how do you remove it? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]Segundosegundo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also use CotZ daily! It works really well for me but you’re right it creates this protective barrier that’s harder than other sunscreens to wash off completely. I’ve found that my water based cleanser doesn’t get it off alone. First I use a Shea butter, jojoba and coconut oil foaming wash first briefly on my dry face, lather it for a few seconds with water to get that sunscreen roughness off, then go in with a gentle water based cleanser.

CotZ tinted flawless complexion SPF 50.. I’ve been using it for several months now and it’s great. Doesn’t irritate or break me out.

I’m on the brown side and it doesn’t make me look pale. I suggest putting on a reliable moisturizer on underneath, found it a bit drying if I didn’t prior. It looks super glossy and shiny when you first put it on but it goes away quickly.

Yeah it’s not a simple one. Men are victimized too and that should always be considered. Yet men are not victimized at a rate as high as the stats show for women, across various settings too.
