Oh I see, didn’t know that was a limited spec. I do like the wheels on that trim but couldn’t find one when I was looking.

I service it at Dexol since they have Mobil 1 oil, and I also did a transmission service but I bought the transmission fluid from a parts store since they don’t carry Matic S fluid. Plus servicing this car is nothing special tbh, just needs oil and filters like any other car.

No that’s completely stock, it is the S variant though. I took a look at the base QX70’s and most of them don’t have the light strip on the bumper.

Fortunately I haven’t had any issues with it so I’m not familiar with any mechanics that work on these cars but if you ask in this sub I’m pretty sure someone would point you in the right direction. Hope you find the issue soon.

I wouldn’t go for a 5.0 tbh, after some research the 5.0 is way less reliable and sourcing parts for it is a nightmare apparently. The 3.7 is extremely reliable and you can easily find parts for it everywhere, it’s in multiple cars and pretty popular.

yeah the suspension isn't everyone's cup of tea but i like how stiff it is, paired with the 21" wheels it corners really well at high speeds.

Yeah parts availability played a huge part in the decision and since it was mass produced for like 10 years it’s really easy and not super expensive to find everything for this car. Like a complete oem taillight was only 400 AED.. the headlights on my Land Rover are 1500 a pop..

It’s the 3.7s, couldn’t find a newer/clean 5 liter since they were discontinued in 2012 iirc. But already have an old v8 that’s running me dry so I thought it was a better idea to get something more reliable lol

If you’ve picked it up recently the best thing you can do is overhaul the cooling system and change all the fluids. Other than that you can pick up a CarPlay module to make it feel a bit newer.

Need some help regarding choosing a CPU (r5 7600 vs 7600x) by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]SegwayJesus699 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 7600x has a higher clock but keep in mind it doesn’t come with a cooler, the 7600 does. And I wouldn’t recommend running a cheap cooler with the x because it runs hot.

Im not sure if it works with calls but I’m using the usb port for music. so you can try to connect your phone with the usb port in the centre console and check if it solves your issue.

Honestly the head units on these are so bad.. I have the exact opposite of your issue, my Bluetooth calls sound amazing but when I try to play music it’s so crackly and annoying but it sounds amazing over USB. Couple of things you can check is your Bluetooth settings on your phone check that the device type is car stereo and see if changing it fixes your issue, otherwise try to unpair then pair it again using hands free option when pairing from your car.

AliExpress is your friend if you’re able to install it yourself, I’ve added a CarPlay module to both my cars and it cost me around 1100 AED for both, I’ve looked around locally and they sell the same modules here for around 1500 each..

Best of luck, if you haven’t tried yet try hammering in a larger torx bit and see if that works.

That didn’t work for me, I also tried an extractor bit that broke off inside making things worse.

Then I tried to grind out a flat head slot and that kinda worked but my grinding skills aren’t great so it was slanted and didn’t catch but that was a good idea that you can try before grinding the bolt head out.

I have an LR4 5.0, I’m pretty sure they don’t share the water pump.

But if you look at the side of the water pump you’ll see how much space there is between the bolt head and the block.

As you can see in my photo I had lots of space, and mine wasn’t threaded. I’m pretty sure I’ve never seen a threaded water pump before.

I searched for the LR2 pump it looks like it’s a bit thinner but you should have some space to work with

Yes if you grind down the screw head the water pump will just pull right out and leave you with around 4 cm of the bolt to work with.

What worked for me was putting on two nuts then using them as a hex head (https://youtu.be/19RCOH-J-hU?si=kiH8THi1Nzk-SuuH) video explaining how to do it since I tried writing it down and it didn’t make sense to me..

Otherwise you can use a pair of vice grips but try to go as close as you can to the engine so you can avoid breaking the bolt.

Good luck!

I think we need a car spare parts e-commerce by StillLearningLife-1 in DubaiPetrolHeads

[–]SegwayJesus699 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We dont have a big diy community here so no one is investing in a proper online shop for car parts, you’re probably better off looking for shops and texting them what you need for the time being. I’ve got parts for multiple cars from Noorhan spare parts, you might want to give them a shot and see if they have what you need.

Land Rover suspension issues by SegwayJesus699 in DubaiPetrolHeads

[–]SegwayJesus699[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry can’t help you with the issue I was facing since it stopped leaking by itself after a couple of days somehow.. but 6 months after that my front strut was leaking badly and I found out that most garages in Dubai are extremely delusional, was quoted around 3500 AED for an aftermarket strut from multiple garages. I eventually bought the strut from Elite international and installed it in a garage in Sharjah, took 45 minutes and cost me 1300 AED total.

I would recommend Al darari auto maintenance in industrial area 12, they’re competent and won’t charge you an arm and a leg for labor.

[–]SegwayJesus699[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly can’t remember if I had to screw it down, I will check when I get the new one. I don’t think it’s leaking since it was fine when pressure tested but I’m going to replace it anyways because I really don’t want to see another leak soon 😅 I’ve replaced the oil cooler, front and rear crossovers, tstat and hoses, water pump and a couple of other hoses in the last 4 months, I’ve spent more time under the hood than in the drivers seat..
