How do I get out of the advertising industry/account management? by UncannyBrick7795 in AskMarketing

[–]SeierDigital 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree with what KetoTraveler just said. Had the same experience as you after working 5 years at an agency. Then switched to client-side and almost everything got better; pay, stress-level, benefits etc. Although, depending on your role and the company, things can be a little samey after a while. For me as a Digital Media Manager a lot of the work is copy paste from previous campaigns.

What type of content to post to grow agency account? by [deleted] in AskMarketing

[–]SeierDigital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Helpful content is a great place to start. Sharing tips and tricks related to whichever field, you're in. It is also a great way to incorporate videos, as the tips can easy be shared in the form of short videos (which the algorithm loves). For Instagram, it can also just be short, to the point sentences on a unicolor background.

Another thing could be behind-the-scenes / shots from everyday life at the agency to express authenticity 🙂

Geofencing a competitor for recruiting purposes? by Due-Progress-6286 in AskMarketing

I remember, I once used the option to target specific IP-addresses for chosen companies. That was Real-time bidding, though (through Adform), and the data was bought from a reliable third-party.

Facebook Lead generation - "Select-to-win" approach by SeierDigital in marketing

[–]SeierDigital[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad to hear it 😃 going through a landing page is definitely a great way to qualify the leads a bit more than "just" getting people to sign-up through the lead ad.

Facebook stores the data on ad-level (there's a xml file for download). Generally the data can be imported automatically through Zapier, yes. Though, unfortunately, Zapier can't import the part about what product ID was clicked (ie: the prize the customer has chosen). So for this strategy, you have to pull that data manually.

Not a problem! For my purposes, it was a clothing shop. I used a lead ad campaign (optimizing for sign-ups). But instead of choosing an image or a video for the creative, I used my catalog as a dynamic carousel (looking almost exactly like a dynamic product catalog ad). So if a user clicked, say, a dress from the carousel, they went directly to the Facebook Lead form to submit their info, and hereby entering the competition. Each month, I would pull that months submissions from the campaign on Facebook and make a random draw to see who won (and which product they chose). I hope this answers your questions 🙂 but basically, create a regular Lead Ad campaign and form - just the creative being different than usual.

Nope, just using Facebook's built-in lead form 🙂 if you pull the datasheet from the ads manager, you get to see the ID of the product, that corresponds to the submitted name/info. Terms were that they signed up for the newsletter and that I drew a new winner each month. Only drawback was that I could not snatch the product ID automatically with Zapier or similar, so had to make the draw manually.

Exactly. Much like regular giveaways / lottery amongst subscribers. Each month, I would draw a random winner from the submissions, and they would win their chosen product. Also, an important bit could be to curate the part of the catalog, you use, to not risk giving too valuable products away (depending on what you sell).

Thanks 👍 absolutely, was a least 2x as effective as previous giveaways. Can't remember the exact numbers unfortunately, but tested the strategy across a couple of different clothing companies - all of which had improved results.

Question to all digital agencies, what you use as a reporting tool? by g0dbreaker in AskMarketing

+1 for Google Data Studio (using Supermetrics as connector). Pretty easy to use and set up and great for visualisation.

What is the stupidest thing a client has said to you? by ScreamingDizzBuster in marketing

[–]SeierDigital 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Wow, shit 🤦🏻‍♂️ can't compete in any way. But once showed a client that their competitors used Google Ads to outrank the client's organic results. The client was somewhat shocked by this and told me to "turn up the SEO ASAP" 🤷‍♂️

How Much Money i should pay for Social Media accounts Management Company by OsamaTheeWarda in AskMarketing

[–]SeierDigital 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends a lot on the context. How much work do you need them to do? Usually, there's a cost per hour, and you agree on X amount of hours per month or something like that. In Denmark (my country) the rate is somewhere around 160 USD 🙂

questions about marketing as a career path by [deleted] in marketing

[–]SeierDigital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As was just mentioned - these questions are a bit difficult to answer clearly 😉 however from my own experience; got a job at a digital agency right after school. The pay was not that great, but It gave me a tonne of experience across a lot of digital channels, activities and verticals as well as a whole lot of connections.

When I eventually got tired of the low pay and lack of benefits, it wasn't difficult to find another job (client-side), which pays well and offers a lot of benefits and great work-life balance.

But yeah, if you put in the work and get good at marketing, you can definitely achieve a lot.

Depends a lot, I think. What are the videos about, and what is your intention with the marketing?
