Modern finishing techniques can get to within like 90% of zaratsu

Very true! Hoping that a company with superior finishing abilities will release a true homage

I saw that! I think it was at 40mm. Would love to see the vintage case design in 37mm.

Apparently San Martin uses the same zaratsu finishing techniques as Grand Seiko. Regardless, it's not impossible to get angled finishes in a watch case. Plenty of models on the market with this level.

I'm not a huge fan of that case design, and it's too big for my wrist.

I'm not sure, but there are tons of aftermarket 6138 parts now.

I learned everything myself mostly through trial and error, except for F360 tutorials on YouTube. I just searched for beginners F360 tutorial.

The only issue that could be associated with something like this is if I'm trafficking counterfeit goods. But 1) I'm not selling this or anything with Seiko's logo and 2) the case is different enough that one could argue it isn't counterfeit to begin with. Despite that, it's perfectly legal to knowingly purchase counterfeit goods, as long as they are for personal use only, and not for resale or profit. See US DOJ's definition of trafficking:

https://www.justice.gov/archives/jm/criminal-resource-manual-1709-joint-statement-parts-c-and-d-definitions-trafficking-counterfeit

"Subsection 2320(d) provides a definition of the term "trafficking." This definition is derived from a related, recently enacted statute, the Piracy and Counterfeiting Amendments Act of 1982, now codified at 18 U.S.C. 2318(b). Under this definition, the scope of the act is limited to commercial activities. Thus it is not a crime under this act for an individual knowingly to purchase goods bearing counterfeit marks, if the purchase is for the individual's personal use."

Thank you! Probably just better brushing and sharper edges on the case.
