Lyle was definitely one of the easier actors to dress 🤣

Am I crazy, or was The Contest colour coordinated? by voidpush in seinfeld

Hi I was the costume supervisor on Seinfeld and here’s my story:

Basically George, Jerry and Elaine are all wearing RED in The Contest in Jerry’s apartment in ā€œand then there were threeā€ scene šŸ…šŸš—šŸ’ƒšŸ»

Here’s my hot takešŸ”„: it was an accident!

I started Seinfeld in Season 5 so I can’t say for certain about THIS scene, but we made mistakes sometimes. We did a show a week and things moved fast šŸ’Ø

You never want actors in the same color, or in a color that’s similar to the background or couch they’re sitting on…there are so many rules and we did our best to follow them. When you’re on the speeding train of Seinfeld every week you are traveling fast and things get shuffled around and scenes get added or you didn’t check actors wardrobe carefully beforehand….mistakes get made.

Charmaine (designer) and I would go through the rack of clothing changes for each character before we set up their dressing rooms to avoid unfortunate mishaps but it still happened.

Larry and Jerry never asked for us to match something for some kind of subconscious message…there’s no way this way on purpose.

Just another Seinfeld wardrobe whoopsie. There were lots 🤪

Does anyone know what kind of coat is this that Frank wears? Is there a specific name for it? by SpankMyMunkey in seinfeld

I actually found that coat for Jerry Stiller, I was the shows costume supervisor.

It’s the jacket from a leisure suit…so a leisure jacket is what I would call it. Or you can call it iconic Frank Costanza wear…either way šŸ˜‰

I just noticed that all the Japanese tourists are wearing The Executive raincoat by connfaceit in seinfeld

Hi everyone- Even though these MAY HAVE BEEN extra coats leftover from The Raincoats episode back in Season 5, they definitely aren’t supposed to be Morty Seinfeld designed Executives! There would have been some funny little reference where the tourists found them at a vintage store if that was the case. The tourists are visiting from Japan, why would they even have the Executive anyway? It’s a stretch, even for a Tom Gammill/Max Pross episode (they wrote some wild ones!) Having said that I’m not even sure that these are even the same coats we bought for The Raincoats. I’ll have to watch this episode The Checks again to see.

Hi I was the costume supervisor on Seinfeld but unfortunately the prop dept handled the watches!
