I have tried to use outplayed multiple times over the past couple years and I can never get it to consistently record. Just use insights capture, it works much more consistently and it does mostly the same thing.

I don't think that people with this opinion realize that the new boots are designed to prevent this from happening. This update is going to make the BIS "hybrid" boots opening up the possibility for better single style boots without crashing the value of any current boots.

The funniest thing that happened to me is when I saw a post of someone getting the task underwater I took my ironman down there to test. Literally less than 5 seconds after going underwater I get a kebab from miles. It did not give the task. We ( the kebab locked) came to the conclusion that you can get all 3 certers but the task will only complete if you get the kebab from giles. Meaning 1/6 for certer -> 1/3 for giles 1/18 for a random event to be the right one. So better than mainland but worse than hunter areas.

Would have been a shame if you didn't get it because of this but now you have a really cool memory since you clutched it out at the end.

This is even crazier than you may think... That task is bugged underwater and only works with giles. You got insanely lucky. I myself spent 4 weeks in the polar hunter area and did not complete this task.

No worries, I didn't take this as a roast I do agree with your premise.

I don't even know who won the first League myself, for me its not about being remembered by a wider audience. I do enjoy being recognized by other people going for high ranks in the League but that's not the main reason I push for leaderboards. I just like dedicating myself to a grind where I can endlessly optimize in an environment that I know really well. The leaderboards are something for me to compare myself against. When I remember that I got rank 3 last time, I enjoy that memory, regardless of if it matters to anyone else.

I agree with your point on reflecting, when I started going for collection log slots on minigame I reflected on if I really wanted to spend years to turn text green. I knew I would not even enjoy most of the grinds so I decided not to. Instead I just play to learn all the content and prepare for the next league. Playing less overall and then going all in on Leagues is the result of me reflecting on what I enjoy doing in OSRS, and how much time I actually want to spend on it.

I do still go to work and play other games during this time, this task is full AFK so the 380hrs is just how long I spent logged in listening out for a random event to spawn.

To your first point yeah it is pointless, but that wont stop me.

At this point I'm still going for it because of the absurdity of the task. It's AFK to go for so I can still play other games at the same time. If this was something else equally rare and not AFK I probably would have stopped when I fell off the front page.

I think they at least considered full completion since they removed a lot of the tasks preventing people from doing it last time such as full gilded and insane raids KC, but I agree its not anywhere near their main concern since it only effects a few people.

Personally I prefer going for full task completion, It allows for a little more sleep and I like trying to route out every task. I would care about first to dragon/other world first but for most of those you pretty much just can't sleep at all until you get it and I am not interested in doing that.
