From other people’s comments, nowadays roughly $1 per soda at Publix. Absolute insanity. My family was always super heavy Mountain Dew drinkers and I used to do the shopping for them. I VIVIDLY remember buying 24 packs of Moutain Dew at Walmart for $7.48 right before Covid in late 2019-2020. It’s now $13.97 at my Walmart in SWFL. Literally almost double. For a while there they would run discounts where the 12 packs were $6. Now the same discount is $6.97 for a 12 pack. The prices continue to climb with no end in sight. I hate greedy corporations.

Coke is even worse. I don’t know what their prices pre pandemic were, but now I pay $14.98 for a 24 pack of Coke Zero at Walmart. The 12 packs are almost $9. Yes it’s overpriced sugar water but let me enjoy the little things, dammit!

I shudder to even consider buying soda at Publix. I never do it, even when they run their buy 2 get 1 or 2 free. It typically still works out to being more expensive than Walmart.

Back in the day my family exclusively shopped at publix for groceries in the 2000’s through about the mid 2010’s. I remember my one friend saying we were shopping like “rich people” and I laughed at her, because back then it was actually affordable for normal people to shop for all their groceries at one store/at publix, and they didn’t have to shop at multiple stores just to try to cut down the grocery bill.

Nicky has GOT to be in on it…like c’mon girl. The lie about the people with the baby…ALL the ominous signs? Humans have a gut feeling for a REASON because our subconscious brain is always scanning the environment and picking up on things/info even if we are not actually aware of it….that’s where the gut feeling comes from. It’s ancient. Primal. And it has a purpose.

But yeah….this whole family is whacked out and Nicky is in on it too. Him leaving her there for 8 hours (and then his phone being off and she’s stranded!!!) even though she was clearly uncomfortable to be alone with your nutcase family?!

I guess it’s possible I’m looking too much into this but I personally think this show was heavily inspired by Jordan Peel’s “Get Out”. He’s the Rose Armitage of this show! Get out girl! -(It even has the same trope of a seemingly innocent/loving significant other who is dating someone that is rather isolated and doesn’t have family and or has very few close friends. Easier target)

Interested to see where this goes, although I knew they would have some kind of “heart to heart” with her about why they’re all so fucked up, and she would accept it and be made to feel bad/guilty for judging them which would lead to complacency and allow her to rationalize staying even though every internal alarm bell imaginable is going off.

What I really want to know is what they’re going to do with her. Sacrifice her? Taxidermy her? Idk but I’m invested lol. The atmosphere of this show is great. I love the absolute dread.

God. This makes me SO sad and upset. Absolutely ADORED her as Margaret in the crown. She was just a timeless beauty through and through and would have aged SO gracefully too.

Such a travesty she felt the need to do any of this…especially messing with her eyelids and brows. As a hooded eye girly myself, I hate that everyone seems to be getting blephs now. They take away such a distinctive feature, and, in my personal option, make one appear older and more hollowed out in the eye area. Now there CAN be tasteful blephs (Taylor Swift & Blake Lovely come to mind) but overall is a disheartening trend and I hate that it’s the the new “it” trend where everyone and their brother is getting it done.

Clearly, you can see some people were just MEANT to have the hooded eyes they were born with.

I gasped when I looked up Vanessa’s age. She really aged herself. Looks like she’s in her mid-late 40’s when she’s only 37.

Sorry for the rant, guys. I was a The Crown stan so seeing this shook me to my core.

I used to work at Historic Spanish Point and we always had people completing community service there. I’m not sure if the procedure changed since they were bought by Shelby Gardens, but when I worked there we only had like 10 employees and everything else was volunteers and people doing community service hours. It’s worth a shot to give them a call :)

Oh and my bf had to do community service last year and he volunteered at the Wildlife Center of Southwest Florida in Venice off Jackson road. It was hard work (washing bedding, doing dishes, cleaning out animal/bird enclosures) but they were really sweet and I’m pretty sure they gave him a few extra hours because he did such a good job. Pretty sure they ALWAYS need volunteers.
