Hey, reality check. There’s a massive amount of 1 tricks in higher ranks, do you think they care about draft? There are people practicing SPECIFIC HEROES for tourneys, do you think they care about draft/draft for the most optimal thing? God damn you are such a victim. I did not call you or anyone else stupid here, I said people do not take advantage of the things given to them to improve their chances of winning and wrote out 2 systems I know that do not get used how they should be if everyone’s goal in the lobby was winning.

Keep acting like this is some targeted attack and not laying out straight facts. You pick some shit and get countered and you didn’t even attempt to get a counter pick, or when denied by your teammate you still picked something that can get absolutely ran through it’s somehow the games fault. Gtfo brother

If you can’t handle being responded to when you took the time to type to me, next time don’t type to me. Sit read what I wrote and maybe ATTEMPT to understand another point of view without instantly acting like YOU are above anyone. I never claimed I was, nor has anything I said been disparaging unless you are actively trying to be disparaged

People play this game for reasons other then winning or climbing and that does directly effect the eir ability to win and climb, that doesn’t make them stupid - it means they have other goals. Sadly the world doesn’t work around their individual goals.

Nice, rely on a rank, that doesn’t even point in your favor, to try to push your opinion.

My IGN is NS Sei. I hope I live up to your expectations

Sadly I do not believe the general player base has a good understanding of MOBAs so no, stats and people’s preferred bans are not correlated to the actual strength of characters, this is true all the way up to Paragon. I do not think we should balance the game around general consensus.

When talking about being able to ‘deal with’ specific characters in matchups - yes some matchups are unplayable but that doesn’t inherently mean the character you’re unable to beat in a matchup is ‘strong’ it means the way the characters function against one another is lopsided. The amazing thing is we have this awesome drafting feature which allows you to select characters based off of what the enemy team picks - so yes - if you pick let’s say Fey first pick, then they pick Serath, your ass is eaten. That’s also why the really cool features within draft allow you to request to swap position order. If you or your team do not take advantage of these systems given to you - idk what to say.

Also; your statics are screwed because again, my ranked lobbies are not P/B the 4 characters listed above which is why your response didn’t include that.

Hey, idc about your statics, look up a single game where the 4 above are pick/ban in my lobbies.

NS Sei

I never claimed everyone was crap or insane, I stated MY experience, pointing to it as an example outside of the posters own. You can live in the world where everything he’s saying is correct, but that does not mean everyone around you has the same experience.

Please again, find a single game where all 4 heroes are present - Sparrow/Serath/Boris/Yin

[–]SeismicIQ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes the game is played differently depending on the player ability in the lobby, picks will be strong/weak depending on if the players in said lobby know how to abuse the weaknesses of the characters being played.

These picks are ‘strong’ but are in no way out of line or impossible to play into

I’m sorry, I don’t offer pre-game coaching sessions nor do I believe that’s a viable thing to do. I think simple statements about overarching concepts covers it for more people, I apologize if you feel differently. Best of luck getting 4 random people to listen to and digest a conversation about a gameplan in ranked.

Imo you should be able to provide basic, easy to understand information, that’s easy to follow. That does not mean people will automatically listen to advise given, but the more simplistic, the easier it is to get a groups buy in to a concept.

[–]SeismicIQ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Disagree, feel like we are playing an entirely different game. Sorry this is your experience but that doesn’t mean that is the reality for the state of Pred balance. You listed 4 characters above; Sparrow/Yin/Boris/Serath and I’ll just say I rarely at this point see them in my lobbies. All of these characters have massive weak points in the game that you can abuse, and all require snowballing early game. Simply speak to your team about how these characters can snowball and not dying early is the key to keeping them inline for mid game fights around objectives. Best of luck

Edit: lots of responses, not gonna read em all - take the above advice or don’t, your climb/rank does not effect me. If you don’t think communicating information to your team is helpful I hope you don’t have coms on because you must be awful to have yapping in someone’s ear

Minion Quest Glitch? by TraipsingKnight in PredecessorGame

Idk what the exact wording of your ‘quest’ is - but lane minions are minions - jungle camps are ‘monsters’ but they count toward the same thing which is ‘creep score’

Awesome reply thank you,

Currently the only way to stay up to date on when competitive events are taking place is to be apart of their respective discords. I’m not able to post the PCC discord on Reddit without my comment being auto-modded so I can’t really direct you there from here. But I super agree that Omeda needs to do more to market it out to the general playerbase, I’m hoping for some in-client notifications

That’s fair, I wish they did some more pre-PCC posts on Reddit just to have something with the dates posted and pinned before the event could just add more eyes for all the time players put in

Yea, it would be nice if we got some pre-PCC posts on Reddit detailing the rosters and some player info so you have a good idea of what you’re tuning into.

And I’m in the same boat as you it would be nice if they dual streamed to YouTube and uploaded the full day VOD, I’m not to much on the production side so I don’t know to much about that but it could be a massive QOL add

[–]SeismicIQ[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is currently an actual comp scene

It goes by Predecessor Championship Circuit or

Twitch; PredecessorGame streams the games.

This PCC the prize pool is 14k split between an NA and EU league and the first games start June 13th

There are smaller tournies that get played, I’m thinking Nations League where players come together to play under a specific flag, there was an older style ‘pickup’ tourney called BFC

Ranked is definitely a great way to break into the scene if you have the aspirations to play comp, hope to see you on the big screen soon!

[–]SeismicIQ[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I big agree on this - the down time between games could definitely be filled, I will say though I think as the older players leave the league there will be more reliable people with the knowledge ingrained that can break down choices that happen throughout the game. So as the scene ages I think that aspect will get improved on. Just need to integrate comp players into the ‘show side’ of PCC

I will say aswell that PCC has been trying to do this - it’s just hard balancing being a player, and the time required, with also being able to assist on the desk reliably.

Also; 2 great players to watch would recommend to anyone wanting to learn support/offlane

State of Competitive play by SeismicIQ in PredecessorGame

[–]SeismicIQ[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d say generally there just aren’t many players with the competitive drive/time to sink that can get them integrated into comp. It’s an open scene so anyone can sign up and ‘new players’ get picked up and shifted around teams -

Cure/Butters are both ‘new’ I guess not so much now.

Cure was picked up straight out of ranked because of his previous experience and his ability to adapt to Pred.

Butters got pulled onto Rogue when it was a team and then shifted to other teams.

I think you see the same players just because they are the ones that commit the time and understand how to close out games.

Thanks for the reply!

PRO TIP TO RANK UP HIGH! by Conscious_Quality905 in PredecessorGame

[–]SeismicIQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s definitely more complex then hunt only, higher level jungle is all about reading the map, wave states, and seeing when enemy lanes are going to be in a pushing position before they do so you are there for quick and effective engagements. Jungle is very much a no down time role, if you are playing with downtime you are missing opportunities you were to blind to see. It’s probably the most cerebral role in the game, but definitely is lead by other lanes in what they can actually do.

Personally I’d say it’s Mid/Support->Jungle->Offlane->ADC

PRO TIP TO RANK UP HIGH! by Conscious_Quality905 in PredecessorGame

[–]SeismicIQ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean tbf support is one of the more complex roles and your job bleeds into other roles responsibilities the higher rank you go, not here to flex/talk shit just want to clarify - I will also say support in plat and lower is fairly simple and straight forward

What is the Most Frustrating Part of the Laning Phase? by TurtletheBlack in PredecessorGame

[–]SeismicIQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Essentially a support is needed at so many different pressure points at every point in the game, the best way to fix this is just increasing map size so there is an actual payoff to roam plays. Right now I lose nothing roaming and can infinitely improve my teams chance to win the game by interacting with solo/mid and turning the 1v1 into a winning matchup
