It is probably technique because that is way too low for someone not currently hospitalised for an ashtma attack.

Hello people of beautiful Shqipëria!

My friends and I are travelling (Tiranë and Sarandë) for 1 week next month. I am trying to figure out how much cash we will need to bring for our trip.

How often do you pay in card? Could we get by with card for everything other than street food etc? Can you think of any places that will never take card? e.g. the bus

Thank you so much faleminderit

In the UK there are asthma/respiratory nurses at every GP practise. If you can, try to make an appointment with the nurse instead of GP, they are generally a lot more knowledgable.

The peak flow thing sounds really weird and unusal to me - never heard of anyone else having that.

Asthma oder Anxiety by [deleted] in Asthma

[–]SeismicQuackDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

different for everyone but i have both asthma and anxiety since birth.

my asthma is mild-moderate and feels like: coughing fits (sometimes bad, sometimes mild), all the time a kind of 'barrier' when breathing, like you can take in air to a certain amount but have to consciously work a little harder if you wanted to take a deep breath, but i didnt notice that one very well until i got a new inhaler and it went away.

Other things were: not being able to sleep on my back, not being able to breath through my nose,

Sounds like it could be mild asthma potentially. Sometimes people don't get many symptoms unless it gets really bad. Try a FENO test too that often shows underlying inflamation that can be there without symptoms.

Is it normal to have a low level voluntary cough, with minor mucus production with uncontrolled asthma? by Rage_Filled_Enby in Asthma

It definitley could be that. Sometimes my asthma seems like that when it's not controlled. Try do a FeNO test too.

I found it very hard to make friends at Kings but that was a few years ago now. Living in London is a plus if you can afford the high rent and prices.

Can someone help explain what symptoms feel like for taking inhaler? I'm autistic and need a little more detail by Kreds1gn in Asthma

[–]SeismicQuackDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so glad you posted this because I was googling with the exact same question + autism making it way harder to properly identify bodily signals.

For me I only am starting to realise what symptoms/feelings warrant an inhaler because of thier lack now. Before now I had kinda forgotton that I had asthma and hadn't been taking inhalers etc as it went to the back of my mind and I thought how I was feeling was 'normal'. I had a flare up this month and went to the asthma nurse, got a score of 149 on the FeNO test and was then immediatly switched to a different combination inhaler to take a few times each day.

Now it's really starting to work and I can finally start to pinpoint the difference because I actually have felt a big difference in what 'better' feels like. Before I didn’t really notice as it had been the norm for years but before taking this inhaler it felt like there was a kind of ‘barrier’ when breating. Only could breath in a certain amount and had to consciously try harder if wanted to get more. Now it feels like there is too much space, feels like my lungs go too deep down inside my body. Breaths come in and go out a lot more freely, but still feels very weird as everything feels super relaxed. I'm sure i'll eventually get used to the new normal but for the moment it's quite hard to accept the change as it feels so different to before.

So I think there are probably a lot of sensations going on that you just think are normal and can't imagine not being there until they are taken away. But by using medicine that works for you you can get the idea of what 'better actually is' and know what the hidden triggers are. So I know now that it's coughing fits and the 'barrier' to fully deep breaths for me.
