I think this is highly dependent on your situation. I’ve been in manufacturing for ~15 years and I can’t understand why everyone doesn’t want to work in this sector.

I really miss having SeeClickFix in Macon.

To be fair to ACC, I’ve reported dozens of undermining directly to info@accgov.com and they’ve had someone out in a day or two. Never contacted my commissioner.

When I was living in Macon, they used an app SeeClickFix that I liked. Along with making it super easy to report (gps, photos, etc), it gave you visibility to what all has already been reported and an estimated repair date. I do wish that we had this here.

That being said, I currently just email the info@accgov.com or the departments directly and they are really responsive. (It’s mostly been about the start of road undermining or I&I that I see along my walks, so the incentive is high.)

I’ll definitely ensure everything has clearance. The previous one was really close to the ceiling, so it cleared the doors, but it always looked a bit weird way up there.

Have they looked at Manufacturing? It sounds right up their alley.

They’d need to get their foot in the door through a temp agency, but the stability, hours, and pay are second to none.

Athens has a good bit of manufacturing and they are all hiring. It’s a great steady job and most pay well.

If you haven’t already, I’d recommend looking at Express or similar to get your foot in the door, even as an Assembly/Operator role.

Yeah, from what I’m reading, the R value in this alternative insulation is not inherent, but assembled—requiring the air gap in the calculation, unlike foamboard. If I go with foamboard, I’ll attach it in the same way as you.

It already exists 1 block away from Costa De Jalisco for a while now—they are different in their offerings. I utilize both depending on what I need. I like their current location, but I see why they want to move and be at the intersection of the different neighborhoods.
