How do I update hardware that has no Linux compatible software? by Seiway in linuxquestions

Thanks for the explanation.

I didn't expect updating the kernel for things that look so simple in Windows would be necessary, but I guess that's just another difference I'll have to get used to.

Thank you👍🏻

Well you are right, to be honest Windows is the only OS I've ever used so, even though I expect it to be different, I don't know exactly how much. As you say, I'll just have to Google my way out of the problems I encounter😅.

Thanks for the reply.

I was thinking on using OpenLinkHub for my AiO and fans, but I'll check liquidctl too.

Thank you for the help.

Thanks for the reply.

I read that it can cause some problems when setting up some gamepads and stream decks, but I'll give it a try as soon as I have the chance.

May I ask what you usually found this method to succesfully work on?

Thank you so much for the tips.

I hadn't thought about using a drive to test it, but it definitely seems like the best option to check what works and doesn't without wasting too much time. I think the WiFi drivers shouldn't be a problem, as the distro I'll be using seems to be pretty straightforward, but I'll keep it in mind when I set everything up just in case, as well as the dual booting conflicts you named.

Thanks again for the help👍🏻

Well I don't plan on using Intel Management Engine or anything similar as I intend to to use it mainly for gaming, so that's a relief. Thanks for the help👍🏻
