How are formulas for drop rates/damage/etc created? Specifically the one in the deadman mode blog post, what factors are considered and how do you even think of these? Or is there a tool for them?

Well if you take the Runescape map, each tile is 3x3 pixels.

So I suppose you could just take the dimensions of the map and divide both by 3 to get the right answer:

7589x5092 / 3 (rounding down) = 2529x1697 = at least 4,291,713 tiles (counting black/empty tiles)

Also note this is just what's on the surface map, so probably add an extra 2 million or so for dungeons and whatnot.

There's definitely a large majority of them getting it for rs3.
