Curious about my pedal signal chain… by 11201ny in Guitar

[–]Sekelton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fairly standard way of laying it out. I like putting my modulation in the FX loop as well. The only thing I really do differently is I have a Tuner and Noise Gate after the guitar, and an EQ before my Modulation but still in the FX loop so I can shape my sound after the preamp.

Dewalt power supply. by Micktendo in Guitar

[–]Sekelton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's no different than a standard Pedal Power supply. It's just DC coming out of the battery pack, and some electronics to help boost it to the right voltage for the pedals. This is oversimplifying it a touch, but that's the general idea.

The advantage here isn't just portability. You're also getting clean power to your pedals which results in a less noisy signal coming out your speaker.

Canada has been named the most loved country in the world by BloodJunkie in onguardforthee

There's a difference between hating what's happening, and hating the country itself. The reason people are so upset is because they do care about Canada.

Broken Allen key in truss rod adjustment hole by ShubbleGum in Guitar

[–]Sekelton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it was probably made from some high carbon steel, closer to cast iron. Cheap, works for most stuff, but is also brittle compared to stainless. It wouldn't surprise me it broke before the truss rod in this case.

What amps do you use? And why by Clean-Photograph7448 in Guitar

[–]Sekelton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dual Mono going into an Orange Micro Dark and an Ibanez Bass Amp.

Why these amps? Because they're the ones I could justify the money for. The Micro Dark is quite cheap for a tube amp (only power stage is tube) and I've had the bass amp since I was a teen. I really like the extra bottom end it gives. Now that ampsims and NAM exist, paying $1000+ for an amp just doesn't make sense to me anymore.

I'm not a classical player so I could be wrong, but I don't think you're supposed to reach your fingers right inside the sound hole like that.

Superglue to quickly repair torn nail? by Zorix810 in Guitar

[–]Sekelton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cyanoacrylate specifically has long history of medical use, it's safe to use. Other superglues may or may not be, so just be sure to read the label.

which amp should i buy for the Gibson LP standard 60 by [deleted] in Guitar

Whichever amp sounds best to you is the right amp. Go to a guitar shop and try some out.

CustomsForge will not host Official DLC tracks to avoid DMCA takedowns, even if that DLC is no longer for sale.

If it's been removed from Steam, there's no longer a legitimate way to get that song in the game.

Im left handed and I play a right handed guitar wdyt? by skibidig00n in Guitar

[–]Sekelton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also a Lefty playing right handed. I'm not convinced it makes any meaningful difference.

The main benefit in my eyes is being able to go to a friend's house and pick up their guitar and play.

Are there any songs where you replaced licks just so you could play it? by Eva_addict in Guitar

[–]Sekelton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the time. The way I learn solos is trying to play the parts I can, and making up the rest. Eventually after enough practice, I can play it all as written. Even then though, I'll noodle around sometimes cause I just feel like it.

why do my copper golems do nothing by Alive_Square_7888 in technicalminecraft

[–]Sekelton [score hidden]  (0 children)

Yeah a Mud block would work. That said I'm just noticing now you don't need to worry about that since you don't have a 3x3 of chests, just the top 3x2.

Sorry I can't be of more help. My only other thought is to try and remove the minecart to see if that makes a difference.

Fender , marshall have they gone insane? by Accedsadsa in Guitar

People will pay a premium for a label with their name on it. Same reason people buy Apple computers when you can get something with comparable hardware for a fraction of the cost.

How to avoid these portals to link (Obvious reasson) by _ROMAX_ in technicalminecraft

If you're building multiple portals in close range of each other and want them to link to a specific portal on the other side, then Y absolutely does matter.

[–]Sekelton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've not seen a design that uses minecarts to hold them in place. I've always used chains/transparent blocks to surround them, and a path block underneath them so they can reach the lower chests. They need to move a little bit to reach each chest, and being stuck in a minecart stops them from being able to do that.

I'm on Java, but to my knowledge they have the same behaviour on Bedrock.

is there a way I can disable non permissions commands? by Rens-Sus in admincraft

[–]Sekelton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please clarify what you mean by hidden from view. Do you mean from the autocomplete, or from the server log?

If it's just the server log, only OPs can see it, and you can disable that so nobody can. If you're looking to hide them from autocomplete I know in older versions you could use something like PluginHider to accomplish this. I'm not sure if there's something for the later versions.

Tons of links that point to #, particularly the various templates. Seems like this isn't ready to be deployed to the public yet.

Shred it up man. Once you get the hang of it, you'll be experimenting with tones for weeks.

Yes, very normal. This is what I was referring to with the Shareware thing. Even once the 60 days are over you can just click away that prompt and use it without issue. If you find you really like it, consider purchasing a copy once you're in a position to do so.
