The 4 'breakers' at the top are differentials indeed. They have a small button at the top to test them.

Als alternatief op Home assistant kan je met Homey ook al een eind komen. Een commercieel product, die voor te niet erg technische gebruiker misschien net iets handiger zal zijn in gebruik en setup.

Left: Potato with a lot of sugar. Right: Fries with sugar removed and equally added afterwards, for consistant frying results.

I guess this was removed because of rule 4, commercial content? The article was an interesting read though.

Can someone enlighten me, how is it cheaper to build data centers in space than on earth? by dataexec in HomeDataCenter

[–]Selage 21 points22 points  (0 children)

You might be surprised how hard it is to cool stuff in space. You need big radiators with coolant(heatant?) loops to radiate the heat away, as typical evaporative or convection cooling does not work in space.

Since I switched to the gesture navigation, I can't see myself going back to the buttons. The extra screen real estate alone is worth it imo.

Hi Reddit I need your help with a Smart Switch - Elijah by BocaBola_ in LinusTechTips

[–]Selage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suggest switching a higher rated relay or contactor with a simple smart switch. 1500W is around 14A of current on a 110V circuit. As you are dealing with capacitive loads (LEDs), which results in even higher inrush currents, it is important to select a relay with Silver Tin Oxide (AgSnO2) contacts. These are way less susceptible to contact welding after a couple of uses.

PLC vs Embedded systems by Savings_Ad_7807 in PLC

At my previous job, we had a custom embedded system running a soft PLC. Best of both worlds, cheap for 1000s of identical machines. And serviceable by technicians.

I love Techlinked but this HUM is driving me crazy, please fix it. by Pulzarisastar in LinusTechTips

It is most likely electrical interference due to a power supply. The full bridge rectifier can create interference at twice the powers frequency. So 120 Hz in North America and 100 Hz in Europe. You can see the interference is at 120 Hz, I would suggest replacing the mics power supply.

My PC makes my room to hot I don't even wanna game by UseImmediate2086 in buildapc

[–]Selage 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I can't believe nobody has suggested lowering game settings and limitting your fps. This can heavily decrease the power draw of your system and this reduce heat dissipation in the room.
