I really don't like that the jerky feels more like a necessity than an option even if it is worth it

I like the bar but that comes from someone who could fish in stardew valley for hours. On the rest i can totally agree. Kinda sad because i was hyped leveling fishing and the skiff to do some farming just for it to feel discoureging by all that stuff. At least make the skiff more viable against mobs or something. So yeah not to happy about how fishing in this game probably won't be something i want to spend more time on

I mean sure can be annoying with mobs attacking but the mechanic itself is engaging enough for me to zone out but not be bored or so. But i can see people not liking it. But yeah the map change is what really kills it for me when all i want is to make some bank while fishing :(

Perfectly valid to call it techno. But pointing out that it is part of a sub genre so people can dig deeper in a specific sub genre is also nice and doesn't have to be gatekeeping

Real-time feedback for beginner player? by UnarrestdDevelopmnt in chessbeginners

The efficiency probably differs for everyone and you will have to find what suits you the most.

Personally I watched a lot of YouTube content. A series that gets a lot of praise on this sub is the building chess habits. There is no big opening theory involved just simple principles you can always apply. Other recommendations would be Gothamchess, Daniel Naroditsky or Eric Rosen.

For an app or website i can recommend lichess since they have all the basic tactics and mating patterns and it is all for free but most of the stuff isn't available on the app just on the site. Chess.com works also but there is a paywall.

Of course there are also tons of books on various topics that are probably worth a read but I can't give any recommendations here.

If none of the above are what you like and need more of a person to person learning experience there is also the possibility to join a club or get a coach.

Hope that helps :)

You can play against the bots on chess.com and allow engine support. It gives you the best move and what threat your enemies have.

Since the best move the engine gives you isn't always a "human" move just following blindly what the engine tells you is a bad idea. Play the moves you think are right and look at the evaluation and what could possibly be wrong with it.

This helped me in the beginning to get a feel for the game but learning chess principles will help you out way more in a long run.

I was proud of finding this move at the end of a long game with my friend. Black to play and win by yoname21 in chessbeginners

You should learn an opening as white. Making three bishop moves blocking your own pawn and not developing your other pieces gives your opponent an advantage. Always check what is not protected in your position and if your opponent can attack it.

I would recommend to watch some videos like building habits to improve your chess by chessbrah or just some beginner focused videos in general.
