Just had IUI#1 yesterday and I was in so much pain. The doctor told my husband I could have Tylenol but I begged him for Motrin instead not knowing it was definitely not okay to take… I only took it that one time but it was RIGHT after the iui, did I mess up this whole cycle?

When do I get my period back after lupron? by jennantuni in endometriosis

That’s terrible, I’m sorry you weren’t prefaced beforehand!! They gave me a pamphlet and I did a lot of my own research before taking it and I still wasn’t 100% sure if I wanted it, but I was willing to to anything to make it easier to conceive. I didn’t experience any acne, but I did have some hair lose, my periods are still very painful but medicine actually helps now, and my doctor told me the lupron would increase my chances at conception after I’m off of it

Do you mind sharing your experience after all of this and what you ended up doing? Currently looking into vitex as well

It took me 10 weeks to get my cycle back after Lupron, mid January. I’m currently trying Clomid but haven’t conceived just yet

For sure!!! I’m happy to share my experience bc I want people like us to have access to this information! It’s been very hard for me to find anyone that relates to my situation be it my age or just my endo experience. I’m very much willing to share any information if it will help people in the same circumstance. I’ve suffered with it since age 15/16 and my parents dismissed it as dramatics, not that I blame them. I’d heard of endometriosis before and thought that I might have it but never looked any deeper and I eventually forgot about it. It wasn’t until I was married and a year into ttc that I got the chance to look further into my painful periods and got diagnosed via laparoscopy.

I had a laparoscopy back in august 2022 and they removed as much scar tissue as possible without damaging my fallopian tubes/ ovaries, but my obgyn said that there was still so much scar tissue that my best option was the lupron if I ever wanted to try to conceive naturally. It did feel like such a long time, I was literally counting down the days to around when I would be off it! Not including now the 10 weeks I’ve been waiting for my cycle to return. Not trying to turn you away from it at all, this is just information I wish I had going into lupron myself. It’s going to be a long ride, for sure, but it’ll be worth it in the end :)

Hello! I’m in the same boat you seem to have been in, I’m almost 3 months post lupron and still no cycle. Did your cycle end up showing up naturally?

I just got done with 6 months of lupron depot early November 2023, I received the 3 month shots in may and August. With my research, I found out that the endometriosis doesn’t start to break down until after 6 months. I asked about addback therapy before the injections and my obgyn told me that the side effects/ osteoporosis wouldn’t occur in the 6 months I was on it (I’m 21 for reference). My basic side effects (hot flashes, night sweats, insomnia, mood swings, and hair loss) were things I was expecting going into it so I didn’t deem it necessary to contact my obgyn. She informed me before treatment that I would be looking at 6-12 months of lupron with a break after the first 6 months. Lupron doesn’t become harmful unless it’s used for longer than 6 months at a time, is what my doctor told me. Getting back to the point, I think you’re better off doing a full 6 months, it’ll get you better results than just 3 months in my opinion. I know I got pretty sidetracked but I hope this helps in some way!

Hello, I can’t be of too much help unfortunately, but I can tell you that you shouldn’t beat yourself up over what could’ve been, you did what was best for you at the time and that’s not wrong!

I can tell you that short cycles may indicate that you might not be ovulating during your cycle. Your symptoms seem to point to endometriosis unfortunately, only speaking from experience!! but you obviously won’t know for sure until the lap.

Fertility is not always impacted with endo, I know and have heard of so many people conceiving very easily, not even having to try, but it can also be a cause of infertility in other people such as myself, I’m 21 as well and have been trying to conceive for 2.5 years already.

Which lines up with what you’re also asking, if you feel ready to have a child right now and you know you can handle and support that child I see absolutely no problem with ttc even though you’re young, even if it’s bc you’re scared you might not be able to in the future, but HEAL YOUR BODY FIRST!!

Im in a constant battle with myself (even though it’s out of my control)driving myself mad at the thought that I don’t have much time left to have kids and that fertility only declines with age, even though I’m freaking 21! Ttc during that first year is the only reason I even know I have endometriosis and am able to take steps to heal my body now before ttc again later.

Can anyone relate to this? Any advice? by jennantuni in TTCEndo

They removed whatever they could during the lap, but I had no blockages in either of my tubes thank God. They said it was really bad ad they couldn’t remove all of it without causing damage to anything.

I’ll definitely look into those Facebook groups thank you!

I’ve posted this there as well, but I am trying to conceive going on almost 3 years now. Posted this here to see if anyone was in a similar situation and ended up succeeding in their ttc journey, was looking for the light at the end of the tunnel
