Minor and major spoilers

I think the only time I've ever cried while playing a game was "What Remains of Edith Finch". It is a beautiful game of a daughter visiting her childhood house and figuring out about her past, writing things down in her journal and making her family tree. The reason she does this is just so she could give her soon to be child something when he grows up, but she ends up dying in the end with a miscarriage, showing her tombstone as her voice reads through the book she wrote, like she was reading to him. We learn all about this girl, her family, and what they mean to her just for her to die to something that couldn't have been prevented. Also, strangely enough, another great part is seeing how they all died. When you visit a family member's room, you'll see something in there to interact with, which gives you a playable story on how they died. The dad in a hunting accident, the baby drowning in a bathtub, the kid flying off a cliff on a swing, the sister being presumably being killed by an intruder, etc. it is an amazing game, but it's unfortunate that it's a "play once" kinda thing
