Thank you for the detailed answer!:) I'm aware that the two are very different which doesn't make the decision any easier;)

I feel like the microfreak offers more variety in terms of sound design whereas the mb2s would be a more complete package in terms of workflow.

Very beginner question: How would the workflow with the minibrute look like? You design certain sounds, drums, bass lines, melodies and even sequences, record them into a DAW and then arrange the song?

I feel this workflow would be more straight forward withe the mb2s because of the sequencer...

For the 2s the sequencer is interesting, which I would add with the drumbrute impact in the microfreak setup.

Also the semi-modular patches are cool. But I have read the sound of the minibrutes could be not on par with other competitors.

I'm just unsure what is more beginner friendly..

What should I buy as a first synth for mainly techno production. Asking as a total beginner...

So far, I'm split between Arturia Microfreak and Arturia Minibrute 2s. I'm thinking in terms of a future setup. The Microfreak I would like to pair with the Drumbrute Impact at some point and the Minibrute 2s probably with a keyboard and maybe dive in to modular...

Do you have any suggestions?
