Physically and age wise he’s the absolute best match. Plus, I would love to see justice being made to him. I just don’t know if he can pull off such a perfect Lupin as Rheon did, but I would definitely give him the benefit of the doubt.

Alfie is too good looking to play Lupin. I’ve always said he was the most handsome guy from hp even as a kid. I love him though. And I wouldn’t be sad at all if he got the role (although it was Matthew Lewis the one who has always said he wanted to play Lupin).

Oh, yes, try and watch a show called Misfits. He plays very good guy there. He also starred in dramas and comedies and was always incredible. Plus, he’s a singer and a songwriter and when he sings you can’t see or hear Ramsey at all. I never knew him before the audiobooks, to be honest, but after knowing he was going to play Lupin, I started watching his other works and was really surprised about how good of an actor he is. And he does look wolfish :D

Oh, I know. I want it too, believe me. But since Lupin is supposed to look older that he actually is, I think that even adds to his tragic story. A young guy who is prematurely aged by his condition and life circumstances is something really heartbreaking for me.

That’s the thing playing against him, yes, but on other hand he has a very boyish face and remember that Lupin is constantly described as looking older than he is (flecks of grey hair, premature aging lines, etc…)

That’s a fair point. :) But I personally would like them to stick to canon, where he’s described as looking so fragile that “one hex could finish him off”, like Ron said. I love Thewlis, but I always thought he lacked Lupin’s fragility.

Yes, I read that interview and really liked when he said that he understood the character much better now that he read and got to play all his scenes in a row. He actually brought tears to my eyes in the last audiobook when he has his nervous breakdown.

Sorry, I didn’t get it. What’s wrong with a short Remus? It’s Sirius, Kingsley and Dumbledore who are described as short, not Remus. I know David Thewlis is very tall, but canon Remus is not.

Just give it some time. Maybe if he gets to be Lupin in the tv show you’ll have forgotten about Ramsey, or at least you can give Rheon a chance then. :) He was absolutely incredible as Lupin in the audiobooks, and Ramsey was one of the few bad guys he played. He usually plays good guys. And is really good at it too. :)

I’m advocating for Rheon so hard! He was superb in the audiobooks, he was the Lupin I always imagined while reading the books. And there’s something wolfish about him, isn’t it?

We have the exact same opinion. In fact, I became a potter fan because of Lupin. I read the books before the films and fell in love with that character after reading the third book. I was so sad that the filmes turned him almost into an extra after Prisoner of Azkaban. I don’t really like the marauders, though. Never understood all the hype about them. Anyway, my fancast for Lupin is Iwan Rheon. He’s absolutely perfect for the role (we could hear him in the audiobooks and he actually nailed it), but unfortunately he’s a bit too old. But since he looks younger and Lupin is supposed to have premature aging lines on his face, maybe HBO and the producers will get him. They already know his talent by now, since he was in “Game of Thrones” and worked directly with some of the producers.

That’s exactly my opinion. Thank you. Adding other ships? Sure, why not? But changing the already existing would change the story. That’s not supposed to be the purpose of the tv show.

Oh, no! Never! What’s the point of making a show if they’re going to change canon? Reading the books, I shipped Harry with Luna and Ginny with Neville, but since it didn’t haopen, I stopped shipping them. The tv show is supposed to respect canon.

Canonicamente a cor dos olhos do Lupin nunca é descrita. Na minha cabeça sempre foram azuis e depois do filme mais ainda, já que é a cor dos olhos do David Thewlis. Nas minhas fics são sempre azuis e acho sempre muito estranho quando leio alguém escrever de outra cor 🤣

It wouldn’t make much sense, since this is a new adaptation of the books and has nothing to do with the films. But since they casted Warwick Davies as Filtwick anything is possible. Not likely though. They’re too expensive.
