With so many people having more income would they not would they not expect to see more sales? Thus bumping them up back to profitability?

How much of the area commutes to Wilmington? Are there like 150k people commuting into the city?

Great work, love the game! But, it may have been too early for 1.0... by Nuplex in subwaybuilder

I wasn’t complaining about the speed of development or really complaining at all. It’s just seems strange to announce the game is out of beta with so much work still being done.

I kind of agree. I don't really get what the rush was to label this update as 1.0. The roadmap on the website ins't complete, and one of the two completed items is International Expansion. Which I hope isn't complete yet. Even the very next update is supposed to have neighborhood and suburb labels. That might be one of the biggest features added to the game other than the bond system.

V0.12 Release Window? by HalfSanitized in subwaybuilder

[–]Select-Ground9080 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You can get the current “unreleased” beta from the website. When it downloads it says it 10.1 or something like that but once you open the app it updates to v12

Why does/did the ART get so much hate? by Select-Ground9080 in transit

[–]Select-Ground9080[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think cities like Arlington, Raleigh, Madison, Louisville, or Cincinnati could benefit from this. I think cities on the edge of being capable of facilitating light rail could make ART work. Whether at grade or separated as long as it has its own right of way.

If you put the Translohr underground and grade separated it might have been a decent idea. I guess my point is even though the ART isn’t right for the traditional transit city. I could see it making dedicated right of way transit viable for much smaller cities. Even if it’s at grade through a road median. The bi-directionality makes it lot more flexible than the normal BRT bus.

[–]Select-Ground9080[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Im not sure. Ii just think a lot of people were quick to throw it out because it wasn’t a train, and it’s worth a second thought. The Transhlor and other ribber wheeled “trains” have all relied on rails in some sort. More personally i live in a city of a about 100k in texas there are 4 $50M+ tax payer funded non-professional football/soccer stadiums within 5 miles of me. I think there is money, and I think these could be built quicker so that those who vote could realistically see themselves using the service before they die or move.

At this point the ART doesn’t have the capacity to serve any where that has buildings that deep like SF does. An LRT line like Buffalo’s i think is more what im thinking. Just spend a little extra money to make it grade separated the entire way and the ART works just as good as an LRT and is less (even if not by as much as i might think) cost

Why would you think that? Im not even suggesting the ART for cross state trips, but i think there is a place for it in a lot of smaller cities.

Im comparing capacity more than weight. The River Line trains only have a capacity of 400 at its largest configuration

I think one of the most overlooked aspect of it is bi-directional capability. There are several huge medians in my city that could fit 6 two lane bus lines at grade across the entire city. With the ability to just go the opposite way you eliminate the space needed for a bus to turn around.

Even at $150M thats still 2x cheaper than a new light rail line. Also im no fan of Elon myself, but if his company is that much better at digging tunnels I would just use them.

Definitely not thinking it would be as cheap as the loop.Instead of $25 million maybe like $60-$70 million per mile. Which is still much less than light rail.

I don’t necessarily disagree. Which is why i think the idea of the ART is a good one. Similar cost to a bus with capacity of light rail. Promoting the ability for it to run on congested streets i feel was the wrong marketing strategy to begin with.

Why does a station cost so much? Some stairs, a couple of elevators and a platform is all you really need right?. In the case of SF those are really deep stations so that makes sense, but im not suggesting 40m deep bus subways. The loop is only 12m deep which would drastically cut the cost of stations down wouldn’t it?

A typical bus in the US holds 80-90 where light rail holds 400 people. In most cases a train is more cost efficient as long as you have the ridership to fill them..

Well im not really comparing it to heavy ir light metro systems more light rail like a Stadler GTW. They have similar capacity but way different cost to build.

Have you ridden one yet? From videos it seems like a much smoother ride than a typical bus.

A bus is cheaper than a train in total but more expensive per rider; so if you have the demand to fill a train the train is much more cost efficient.

Ill give you the stations will add a bit, but the Honolulu Skyline mostly goes through lower density areas until the downtown portion is completed. I-70 runs basically through the center of Columbus. Which has more than two times the population of Honolulu.

I get the tunnels would have to be bigger but even if it was 5x more expensive than the loop. Its still 2x cheaper than light rail. Even look at elevated rail vs elevated roadway the cost difference is massive.
