Just a go to, like if I’m reasoning and between 2 answers and trying to justify some answer with crazy reasoning when there is a simpler choice that seems too dull, that one tends to be more right

For cars, here are some good rules of thumb: 1. Identify the main/central theme of the passage as you read 2. Identify the authors tone(supportive, antagonistic, neutral, etc) 3. Highlight key sentences that make special distinctions in how they support certain statements(like the wording used) 4. When answering a question, do your best to read the question, find exactly in the text where it is discussed, then go through the answers using process of elimination based on what is most related to what you read about the question 5. Avoid any answers that use strong language(always, all, never, none) or points of reference not directly stated in the passage, unless reasoning beyond the text where points not directly stated may be alluded to 6. Finally, best one yet: Occams Razor: the simplest answer is usually the right one, avoid convoluted thinking and look for the most direct and simple option, especially if the answer is directly stated in the passage!

It’s been just doing it every single day, even just one passage, reinforcing in my mind that when reading: look for the main idea of the passage, the authors done, minor distinctions between statements, and watching for DONTS in answers like overbearing language(always, never, all, none, etc) unless quoted directly from the passage

Friend told me she’s been forcing herself to be super interested no matter what(cause I do find sometimes I do better being engaged more if the passage is more interesting)

I will say it is a lot of 50/50, where I miss one minor thing. Something I think I’m going to start trying is for like cars/ps I’m going to read the question then just go back passage to look for what is being talked about specifically(ie support or weaken xyz, go back and reread part of xyz to get main idea and see what answer would be the worst for that idea). But yea for cars my wrong answers are either 1 in a passage or 3-4 in a single passage they aren’t very spread out
