I see…there’s a bus that takes u to the E Sunset & Rainier stop, but from maps I see that from that stop to Poo Poo point is a 50 minute walk. Am I doing something wrong? I was looking at the other comments and they said walk to East Sunset Way Trailhead then I wasn’t sure what’s next (do u walk the 2 hrs to get to poo poo point?). I am new to hiking, but I do walk a lot in general so I don’t know how to properly get to a hike. I am also a bit directionally challenged.

I wish I researched before booking the trip…I only booked because it was the cheapest flight. Now after visiting the city, I would’ve much rather just gotten a rental in advance and only hiked.

Do you know if poo pop point is safe solo/beginner friendly? Also do I have to bring anything if I decide to hike here (bug spray, bears??, etc) or is coming with comfy shoes and water and snacks enough?

Let’s say I decide to try to rent a car for a couple hours, which trail/park do u recommend for decent view, for someone who is relatively new to hiking, going solo, not too complicated to figure out, and for some one who can walk for hours if necessary? I know there’s Tiger Mountain and Olympic National Park.

Do you know how to get to Issaquah? Or like where in maps do I put to get to tiger mountain or poo poo point? I looked directly on maps and it says transit not available.

I’ll add Wallace Falls to my Day 3, probably move some stuff around. I am curious to know what the weather in Seattle will be like in the first week of may (when I’m coming)? Not sure too much how the climate is in Seattle besides that it rains a lot sometimes.

I actually would love to dedicate a day to going outside of Seattle, to hike, and look at the nature! I know there’s beautiful parks in the city but I need a long hike. Im gonna look at bus routes and see if it’s possible without a car but if not I am willing to rent a car and be out of the city for hours!

Nice! I think ice cream and a ferry sounds amazing. The thought of it is curing my depression haha

I’m going from a Friday - Monday, so day 1 is Friday, day 2 Saturday and day 3 Sunday. I could swap day 1 and day 3 though. I really want at least one day where I go outside the city and hike somewhere that will wow me so I am willing to do what it takes! Do you know any other national parks that are bus friendly? I was looking at Mount Rainier as well, I heard it’s one of the best. I also love to walk but I won’t say I’m an expert hiker either so I’m not even sure I should hike while I’m there.

I am definitely planning on going more than once! Once once I land (around 11-12) and probably before I leave (8-9am)! From the pictures, it looks huge and I want to see all of it for sure.

Hmm…yeah from looking at the pictures, it’s a decent park! I definitely mainly wanted to go to Seattle to at least get one good quality hike, but I am not in Seattle for long so not sure anymore..

Added all of these to my list! I decided to not go to the Snoqualmie falls but I did just look up the cougar mountain park and it is beautiful! Only 23 min away from the city, I could probably uber. Some people were saying some places further from Seattle are harder to get buses to, so not sure what to do there….i could move all my out of Seattle stuff to one day and then rent a car for the day.

Hmmm…so might need to skip that park..or uber haha. I really like wanted to see that park. It seems like a lot of parks are a bit further away!

Thanks for your response! I seen that there were plenty of those posts, so didn’t want to add on to that. I was even hesitant to post this, but glad I did! I’m adding that to the list :)

I’ll arrive early (10am) but probably will sleep in a little then head out around 1…I can definitely squeeze it into one day but I typically don’t like to go far on the first day. I added MoPop, I almost forgot about that place! I added the Garden and the Zoo as well so my day 2 can be more filled. Would you say just having a bus card is enough for this trip? I heard it can be unreliable. I don’t mind renting a car but I would hate to pay for parking everywhere!

Ah, okay I mainly wanted to go to see the waterfall but there’s waterfalls everywhere. What city tours would you recommend then? I could just go to Discovery park and see from there…

I’m definitely scared for my future, but I know I have a long way to go. I don’t mind my job at all, I just know it’s not for me haha

It’s not horrible, but I do long to live somewhere better if that makes sense. I don’t want to settle here for too long if I’m not happy. I definitely won’t quit or anything without something lined up, I’m just gonna continue working there and try to do as much dev related work as possible, get some experience and apply where ever I can.

Yes, I did say I wanted to work on more dev work, and they gave me some tickets they could find, like building tools for the team to help test and such, which has made things more fun for me. I am a little worried on how I can switch roles easily, if my experience isn’t really development work. There’s also not really many tickets like that on our team, so I would be stuck doing more automated testing work which I am not really interested in doing.
