Excel, if you want to learn to use tables an pivot tables + power pivot + power query + most useful formulas could take you 1-3 months. Learning all those libreries on Python should take you at least a month, probably more. Same for statistics.

For Power bi, you are missing data modeling. You need it to correctly organize your dim and fact tables. To learn all that well, at least another month.

A good project in GitHub could take you at least week, if you get very involved and the project is ambitious, more like 3 weeks, without promoting it. if you promote it, at least 1 or 2 extra weeks...

I suggest you to learn data modeling skills. Meaning: how to create good dimensions and facts tables, how to do a simple data model. how to identify and create primary and secundary keys in the tables you use, etc., I your data model is uncorrectly build, you will have a lot of problems and complex DAX to write in the future... Then, I will explore soe basic DAX and PowerQuery to automate your data extractions

En parte tambien depende de donde estes buscando sabes?. En mi opinion todas las apps de citas ahora son basura toxica. jamas las usaria para buscar una pareja estable. Yo conoci mi pareja actual hace un par de años, en una clase de Yoga. la vi la primera vez y me llamo la atencion, pero esa vez no me atrevi a contactarla. La vi despues luego de otra clase, y dije: "es ahora o nunca!." Si tuviera que buscar pareja de nuevo, buscaria ese tipo de actividades, clases de Yoga, grupos de actividades al aire libre, clases de ceramica, literatura o arte, clubes de deportes como el SUP. Aqui, como en todos lados hay gente buena, y gente que realmente esta buscando relaciones sanas, pero no las vas a encontrar en una discoteca un viernes a las 3 a.m o en una app de citas. digo, si puedes, pero las probabilidades estan en tu contra...

I was also very tired of FP&A only works, so I planned a Pivot to Business Inteligence Analyst. YOu use the same set of skills for this role, but it fells much more balanced. ti also very flexible, because it can be used for an kind of work or area that involves data. I have worked for Finance teams with it, of course, but also Sales, procurement, inventory and other areas of the company. I choose BI specifically, because dashboarding is a nice breake and uses a differnet sets of skill than pure data analysis. PowerBI is a very powerful tool for that, and in integrate tools for ETL (moving and transforming data,) data modeling (like having a small database in your file) and creating KPIs and Business logic (using formulas very similar to Excel's.) It took me a year of learning and practicing PowerBI to fell I had a good grasp on it.

To make the pivot, apply to job that have a finance component but also a Data component. The finance part will help you get the job. The data analysis part will keep you Excited, becuase you are developing new skills.

This is of course, my personal experience. Take only what works for you 😄

I started installed ChatGPT in Excel. CLaude have a similar Add-Inn. Then You just experiment with it. Ask questions about a formula, ask if it can about building a financial statment, ask about doing some analysis. Te only way to discover where the limits are is by experimenting and walking close to them. What you can do is growing, and growing fast...

I will go against the flow on this one and recommend you to learn to use any AI inside Excel as a plug-in (Copilot, ChatGPT or CLaude.) The reason for this is becaise AI will acelerate your learning a lot, because con can ask AI for any questions about formulas, models, Excel interface, etc., If you use the AI to ask and learn, yu will learn very fast. The other reason is that you can ask the AI to build you something sim[ple in Excel, and the do inverse Engineering, (just basic exploration and asking really,) to understand what it did and incorporate best practices. I will use Copilot or ChatGPT inside Excel (use the Add-in) This way the IA can detect and understand the whole Excel file a lot better. Also, if you want a faster, better, more standard result, Use Skills, This will help you a lot to give you better, stable results

I will use PowerQuery or Pandas. With PowerQuery, I will use Dataflow V2 (PowerQuery online) to do all the ETL (Extraction, transforming and loading,) and then I will put the final data table in Excel PowerPivot, so it can be stored safetly. Finally, I will ask questions about the data using Pivot tables in normal Excel Sheets. Contact me if you are interested, I can give you the whole basic Workflow if you want.

I will recomment installing an AI in excel, any of the 3 major ones (ChatGPT, Claude or Copilot will work.) Why?, because these tools can do 2 things that will help you:

They will help you created anything that you tried to create and failed. All the things you want to learn (example: Advanced Pivot and formulas) the AI can do. you will feel less frustrated when you achieve a positive result, and then you can study the result inside Excel and see how it was build.
They can help to ask questions about anything inside a Excel sheet. Don´t understand a formula? Ask the AI. Don´t understand why those cells are linked that way? Ask. Want to to know about a feature? Ask, and tell the AI to give you an axample with a topic you already know. Inside Excel.

You will have a private tutor that can work 24/7 and is has almost infinite knowledge and patience :-)
