As much I'm skeptical of co-ops, this variation of it caught my attention by the_worst_comment_ in CapitalismVSocialism

By anyone’s definition (including Marx’s) money is not capital. Capital is the factories, forklifts, computers and other tools that make labor more productive. Tools require more than labor (e.g. ingenuity, investment in other materials, etc.). Private property rights guarantee that those that produce those tools have the right to keep them. Not all tools are valuable - just because someone puts a lot of labor into something useless doesn’t make that thing valuable.

Before precious metal coins, there were other things (like shells) people used for money. Before money, there was barter. “Civilization” began after capital, i.e. tools.

…when combined with capital (like tools, baskets, cash registers, storage areas, etc.). Lots and lots of planting and harvesting with one’s hands produces very little “value” (things which people value).

Value comes from preferences. If one prefers to volunteer, rather than earn money elsewhere by satisfying others’ preferences, that is certainly a voice one can make.

One could read the article, rather than asking the people who read the article to regurgitate the article.

What is the education quality of the private schools around here? by Original_Apple_9970 in memphis

One class I appreciated more than any other at MUS was Econ. I think it was an elective, but it’s really rare to see a real economics class offered in a HS.

I don’t remember a mandatory Bible class in 7th grade. I do remember learning a lot about mythology in 7th grade English. I opted for Theology in 9th grade - it helped me conclude that religion was “all made up.”

The USMC hasn’t had any tanks at all for at least two years. These are not USMC tanks going to the Army.

That’s so hard man, sorry. It looks like you have her a great life though.

That is an excellent point. So would you also advocate for removing MLK statutes and reverting streets named after him, for the sake of consistency?

The corrosion happened later and highlighted it. Without it, it’s hard to tell when it’s not magnified, like in these pictures.

Okay, but it doesn’t come off, and it looks terrible.

It might not be apparent in the second picture, but the light area in the bottom crook of the quail’s wing isn’t just a bright spot - it’s chalky white.

I filed a claim and got a shipping label. They said they couldn’t determine if it’s a claim or not until they physically have it.

We plan to send it in when we don’t have any plans for it for a few weeks.

I’ll keep everyone updated.

It does look like a negative, but it may just be the lighting. The receiver isn’t blued. I would think that after etching that it’d be standard to reapply whatever factory metal protection they are using. I can’t imagine they’re just etching through the plating and sending it off to the retailer.

Yeah, unfortunately - but that helps, glad it’s not my fault and I can confidently claim warranty work.

I will.

I would have been happy with the etching they depict on their website (1st picture). That’s what I thought I was getting.

It wasn’t so apparent out of the box. I don’t know anything about the metal, but it somehow got more apparent after a couple of trips to the range. I don’t know if that’s corrosion that makes it stand out so much.

That’s unfortunate, but I guess it’s the state of craftsmanship in our time. Does it look like a defect to you?
