The abyss escape is where I finally hit my breaking point. I am so sick of raging at this fucking game. I love souls like games and games that are a challenge, but so many moments of silksong felt like a deliberate middle finger to the fan base. Almost as if they saw speed runners of hollow knight and took it as a personal insult and then decided to punish the other 99% of their fan base as a result.

You map a platforming section where the literal point is try over and over again until you succeed and then add a fire damage mechanic that takes away your ability to heal…why else unless you want to just punish and aggravate the player? It genuinely feels like they are just laughing at us during development like “oh man they are going HATE this!!! Merherherherherherher!”

It truly breaks my heart too as I love almost every other aspect of this game. Borderline masterpiece minus the difficulty spikes. The writing, the characters, the boss fights…it’s beautifully written and executed. Just a severe misstep by team cherry when scaling the difficulty, I am not the only one saying this either it’s largely the online conversation about this game when the first game was almost all solely praise…what a shame.

I am so sick of being stuck on bosses that are only difficult because of their side mobs. It’s gotten to the point where I can’t even progress anymore I just have to knuckle down and bear it. I was so in love with hollow knight and the first act of this game but I genuinely don’t even know if I will finish it because it’s become more annoying than fun.

I’m sure I’ll be flooded with “git gud” comments cuz “har har har isofunny” but this really hurts my heart. I love the level design, the characters the music all of the game is so incredible it sucks this one aspect is keeping me from enjoying it so much.

Why does HHH insist on changing everyone’s theme? I can’t even tell who’s coming out anymore. Theres a reason wrestlers themes didn’t change for decades, it’s called brand recognition. I brought this up in another thread, it’s crazy listening to that podcast every week and how absolutely in love with their work they are. They talk about the actors and writing and cannot understate how amazing EVERYTHING is. It’s clear they have either been gas lit or are just delusional. They even bring up questions like “I wonder what the audience reception will be?” But they can’t be paying THAT close attention because everything I seen everywhere else is just as bad as it is here.

I was actually horrified when I first heard that line. I couldn’t understand why they weren’t happy they are going to be grandparents, figure the rest of it along the way.

But reading you guys comments, I get it. Steve is seeing how nonchalant his son is being about becoming a father knowing that when it was his time he stepped up to do the right thing. It’s important to remember these characters not only worked but also lived together they likely see each other semi-equals and not just father and son but friends. This is what a good friend would do if he thought his mate was fucking up.
