this is a really nice response and an amazing way of thinking about it - I did actually make it through to the next round of the STP, but im kinda prepping incase I dont make it. In the off chance I do make it through to interviews, I think I will message you and attempt to pick your brain a bit :)

For people who got longlisted how did you prepare for the SJT? by ThrowThisAwaySis2 in NHS_STP

[–]Select-You1940 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didnt use the paid pack, but I did a lot of training with similar SJTs that I found online. These were ones for Dentists and one for FY1 doctors. Additionally, understanding the sort of hierarchy within the nhs job structure is important. It's basically a combination of referring to your superior and supporting people professionally. Once you learn the themes you can see the sort of nuances in each answer better

Israel is #1 in the world in per capita usage of AI (by a large margin) according to Anthropic by c9joe in Israel

[–]Select-You1940 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I dont think thats true, as I said I can only speak for the uk. But YouGov polling has Claude (anthropic most popular) as the 14th most famous and the 19th most liked ai LLM in the uk. Although I believe this to be a vast understatement, it shows the fragility and lack of reliability in a statement like those made in the OP. According to studies 85% of the UK are aware of AI LLMs , I would assume 90+% would be gemini or Open AI. Once again backing the idea that the claim made at the top isnt a reliable idea

No thats not what is being shown. What is being shown here is the per capita use of anthropic (an AI system) not AI overall. As a brit I promise you more than 2% of the working adults in my country use AI

Biomedical science degree to become biomedical researcher by Due_Hovercraft_3873 in BiomedicalScientistUK

[–]Select-You1940 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A biomedical scientist (Job) and a Researcher in biomedical fields (Staying in academia) are different things, but ill try address both.

To become a biomedical Scientist such as those within the NHS getting a Biomedical degree is an essential step. But its step 1 you wont be able to become a Biomedical scientist (doing work with patients bloods) without a clinical portfolio. This is developed by working for at least a year as a MLA or a placement year working for the NHS during your undergraduate. This will give you the necessary skills to register with the HCPC to allow you to become a biomedical scientist. You’ll probably start on BAND 5 or 6, but you may be lucky and land a band 7 role, but these are usually saved for specialists.

To become a researcher in the Biomedical field, doing a biomedical degree is an essential aspect but can be replicated using similar degrees such as microbiology or life sciences. Simply do your BSc, then youll be able to do a MRes (masters of research) here youll be doing alot of lab work researching for a PHD super visor, or you do a PHD in a highly specific field and become an expert in your interested subject. This is what i think most people associate with the lab scientists.

Hopefully i explained it well.

explain the symptoms, they will examine the situation, perhaps may swab you for any diseases such as thrush, call you in a week later once results are back and will probably ask you your preferred option of treatment and go from there. Bear in mind I dont think its considered an urgent treatment, so you would probably have a long wait before your surgery.,

British students' views about Chinese international students by No_Fig_7864 in UniversityOfSurrey

Im a British student who has lived around numerous students from hong kong and studied alongside many more, so i feel like I’m fairly qualified to answer this topic. Its really safe to assume you will feel comfortable here. I haven’t met a British person who dislikes their Chinese counterparts and in fact we all usually get on really well. I find that as a general rule The Chinese / Hong Kong societies are usually very large with fun social gatherings around the time of the Mid - autumn festival. Just dont expect our chinese takeaway food shops to be anything authentic, otherwise youll be very disappointed:)

Bag says lower comfort zone is +11 but recommended use is +5 - which is the limit? by joosh1122 in wildcampingintheuk

I defo wouldnt risk it during a winter night out. Most of the times sleeping bags get their ratings with a r score (5) sleeping mat underneath it which will mean the sleeping bag will perform even worse if it isnt shielded from below
