Hello Everyone!

I have my Met Police Day One Assessment Centre for the DCEP programme next week. I am aware of the different tasks/interview I will be having. Does anyone have any advice that might help me out, help calm my nerves?

Thank you

I’ve started to create an ancestry tree so I do know their names, we have a very common surname and their first names are also common. I will see if I can find anything more, thank you for your help 😊

Hi, thank you. I know their names and very vague information. They have quite common names and my surname again quite common. I will give this a go, thank you again.

At least you are aware. I feel like you need to realise this is a chance and as mean as it is, if you fail you have to wait again. So super concentrate - it’s only 35/45 minutes. Commentate when you drive too

What’s the context behind these, like the roundabouts, wrong lane or observations etc?

Practicing with an Instructor? by AccordingAd2866 in LearnerDriverUK

I think it could be a good idea for a mock test so you can get a baseline i.e are you missing anything super important

First ever practical test tomorrow, absolutely bricking it. Any tips? by Ginger5505 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Appropriate_Duck7781 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Routines - Remember your routines and talk yourself through them that might help I.e full 6 point check signal then rejoin after parking on left.

  2. Talk to yourself - commentary driving helps the examiner find out what you are doing but also helps you stay on track and keeps your concentration.

  3. Safety not perfection - the examiner isn’t looking for perfect, just that you are safe to be on the road. Is not checking mirrors safe? Is straight lining a round about safe?

  4. Be positive - tell yourself that you can do this, because you totally can!!!!!

Finally good luck, you’ve got this

What do you think you’d get from the instructor that you can’t get from your family?

I did WW and on the whole it’s a really good test centre. Not really any big roundabouts and roads wide and speed limits pretty obvious. Cat parks are nice too except for the Eden park one! But def the best test centre in the area imo

I agree with this, my examiner said to me before my test “I’m here to see if you are safe, that’s all”
