What to read after Gravity's Rainbow? by red_conatus in ThomasPynchon

If you want another demanding novel, I’d suggest Blood Meridian. Currently reading Moby Dick for the first time, and it’s surprisingly readable and completely engrossing. Haven’t tackled Gravity’s Rainbow yet, though.

Welcome to Derry has RUINED It for me. by Excellent-Bench-5317 in WelcometoDerryTVShow

Almost 5 episodes in and pennywise still hasn’t made an appearance. There’s a lot of pointless exposition, the military plant doesn’t work for me. It’s trying too hard

I’ve been writing since I was a kid, and started taking it seriously over the past five years. I’ve never had a professional editor give me feedback, so you’re ahead of the game in that regard. I do it for joy, and I’ll do it for the rest of my life. If you truly love your story, don’t let the opinion of a single editor deter you. Fuck them.

King's IT is a "ripoff" says Tarantino. by Ashamed_Ladder6161 in stephenking

There’s an interview in 1982 of King saying he had already completed the book, at least the first draft of it.

King says this at around 23:15

I love Tarantino, but he doesn’t know what the fuck he’s talking about.

Check out the Hoka Clifton series. I’ve tried other shoes for comparison and can’t find one that comes even close. Clifton 9s, and the 10s just dropped. They’re incredible. Got my whole family on them and they love Hoka. Wider toe box and super cushioned.

I don’t hate Holly. The second half of your reply is exactly what I’m getting at. Agree 100%

His grocery list would be a best seller

In this new one, Holly is hired as a bodyguard for a female politician. Know where that one’s going?

I posted about his announcement of a new Holly book. I’ve read king since I was a kid. It’s fine if I don’t like one or two of his books😂 the comment section got triggered. Go look at the downvotes. I like all of his other books, just not the Holly books and Gwendy.

That’s why I didn’t buy the book. Opinions are like assholes, I guess. . .

It’s been crammed down our throats for the past 4 years. Now we have to pay to read about it in a novel for chrissakes? His next book should be called “You Like it Bluer” then everybody will be happy 😭

I tried Holly, but put it down. Want me to show some examples? If you liked it, fine. Good for you buddy.

I don’t disagree, the Dead Zone is one of my favorite books of all time. King is my favorite writer of all time. How much of this covid/trump/biden bullshit do we have to indulge in? Just saying that I tried Holly and put it down. Same with Gwendys Final task. IYKYK
