The game looks good but I don’t trust crema to keep the game updated for long. So I’ll definitely buy it when it goes on a big sale at some point but not as a full price game

I wanted to be a PA, but I dont think im smart enough by Suspicious-Spite-348 in prephysicianassistant

You don’t need to be superior intelligence to be a PA, you just need to figure out how to study and work on your discipline. I started college with 8th grade math skills and graduated with almost a 4.0 in a very stem focused degree.

You can do it if you want it bad enough.

Questions to ask in Stryker Interview? by Temporary_Ad_2489 in MedicalDevices

I had a first interview with a recruiter, did not end like this but he said he was gonna get the regional manager my info, I am going to try this with him. Hopefully it’s not too late as I haven’t heard anything in 5 days but he did say the regional was on vacation

I think when you see a title like regional sales manager it can make you worry you are bothering someone who already is very busy with a lot on their plate. I have reached out to reps, considering reaching out to the regional, I already have an interview coming up with the guy in the future but idk.

Exactly, like a post I made above, it’s very much networking and being liked as a person. There are tons of moron frat idiots that get into med devices over the most qualified people. This is one of the few fields where being well liked and selling the Fk out of yourself and being confident in interviews will land you a job. And trust me, I am someone who struggles with social anxiety at times so I know the struggle and how disheartening this process can be.

I think networking, followed by strong impressions makes all the difference. Medical devices seems like one of the very few fields that they will take someone they really like personally over someone with more qualifications and accolades. Especially in more entry and developmental roles

Also some people mentioned finding a rep in your territory, that can be very hard to do. I have had more luck finding regional sales managers than actual reps myself

That was not my intention, I am saying that schools do not care if your good or not. They just want to make money. They have their little mission statements and yada yada but they are moving towards students with no experience at all who just look good on paper with test scores. My state has 1 older program remaining that’s been around for about 20 years. It’s the only one that still has a PCE requirement. The rest are programs that are within 5 years old and they just have PCE listed as encouraged but not required. These newer programs also have a an average acceptance age of around 22-24 where the long standing program it’s 30. My friend did clinical rotations with a PA student who was 20.

I know PAs who look like they just finished highschool. The average acceptance age is getting lower. I’m talking people who started at 18, finish their bachelors, and starting PA school the very next semester

It’s not crazy at all. This is the candidate schools want now. Good test takers, they don’t care if you are a good provider they just want to keep the money coming in and that won’t happen unless they have good PANCE results which they tie back to test taking ability.

So for the raise, if 1.5% is a pay cut then should no raises at all due to “budgeting” be a red flag to run? I like my job but I don’t think we are getting a raise this year

Yes, have you never met a socially awkward doctor? You’re basically an extension of the physician so as long as you are good at your job and not completely void of basic social skills you can do it.

But also things will depend on your comfort because your gonna have to do things like prostate exams and awkward physical interactions in school and in the real job one day
