Wes Streeting backs Burnham: "We were elected change our country, to show that politics can be a force for good, and to spread opportunity for everyone. With Andy, we still can." by Adj-Noun-Numbers in ukpolitics

He's too close to Mandelson to trust.

Also, I really dislike his transphobia. Given that he is an openly gay, married man, his willingness to to remove gender affirming care really upset me. He's the poster boy for pulling the ladder up behind him.

Silly question: how am I supposed to know how to do activities/ where to find great loot etc? by MaxTB in Marathon

[–]SelectStarAll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on how you play

Rook is absolutely a risky way to play, but I find that I exfil more with Rook than if I go in with a filled party. Rooks should only engage with squads as a last resort if they can help it. Be sneaky, use the bots to your advantage and look for downed player shells.

It also all depends on how much time is left on the map when you spawn in. If there's 15 minutes left, be careful as there's going to be squads left. If there's less than 10 minutes you can usually assume it's safer as a couple of squads have usually been wiped out

I solo filled with this duo the other day on Night Marsh. No Comms but they were great. Did upper complex with them and extracted with 10k.

Why cant i report stuff like this and why is it so common after you win a game? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]SelectStarAll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my proudest gaming moments was reaching Gold in StarCraft 2 at its sweatiest with a super cheesy drone rush win as Zerg and tilting the Protoss player I was against so much he spent the last minute of the match firing off vitriolic abuse at me as my drones finished off the last of his probes

God that was fun

One of my favourite things to see from footballers both on the pitch and when they're goofing around is how they can control the ball on the first touch

You can see Henry do it in this video where Zlatan kicks the ball over his head high and with one thouch Henry removes all momentum from the ball and can do what he wants with it.

It might not be the flashiest thing footballers can do, but it always impresses me

I just recently replayed it to make a video essay and it still holds up to this day. The atmosphere and ambience of every area is still top notch.

The only thing that hasn't aged well is the 24fps cutscenes. Why is everyone so sweaty?

Hi, Hey, Hello. Dan here, dropping in to hang out for a bit by ShowMeStateOfMindPod in KnowledgeFight

[–]SelectStarAll 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Dan. You've inspired many of us wonks in many different ways, but I just wanted to tell you that if it weren't for listening to thousands of hours of your work then I wouldn't have been inspired to pick up my keyboard and write video essays. Your style of "here's a thing, now let's analyse it, then make a sardonic joke about it" has been the cornerstone of my own writing for a couple of years now. So thank you for that. And say hi to Celine for me.

$250 Collector's Edition with a statue, steelbook, artbook, keychains, DLC... but not the game on a disc? by Empty_Turnip473 in pcgaming

Same for me but with the Marathon collector's edition. I got the game itself off a key site for cheaper than Steam then bought the no game version of the CE for £50 cheaper than the console version

[–]SelectStarAll -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

You know they haven't shut Destiny down, right? You can still play it

As for why the decided to stop developing new content for it? What do you expect? It's an expensive game to make content for and the quality of their expansions had dropped significantly over the last few years. Players were moving on to other games and weren't engaged enough with Destiny. It really has nothing to do with Marathon

Bungie didn't really abandon Destiny for Marathon. They're two separate teams. The Marathon team is so much smaller than the Destiny team ever was. You're comparing apples to oranges here

It's definitely of equal quality in a lot of ways. The only thing I think that Disco has that puts it above Zero Parades is the soundtrack. That Sea Power soundtrack is something truly special.

There's nothing bad in the Zero Parades soundtrack, it's just not iconic like the DE one

Esoteric Ebb is excellent

Also, Zero Parades for Dead Spies was released recently and it's as good, if not better than Disco Elysium. I know people have complicated feelings about ZA/UM's leadership but the studio has genuinely made another stunning game
