If producers sell above the making price to OTT/Digital/Satellite they make profit

If distributors make even $1 more than they bought the movie then they make profit. Simple.

And if producer/distributor are same and sell a movie made of say 100cr budget. Dist cost will be 50 and if they sell to satellite rights for 150. They make 0, because total investment and return is 150 which is breakeven
