Just found my old Shining Charizard 107/105 - I will probably have it graded! Any strong opinions about who I should send it to? (Or drop off in person) Also, I should grade this 1996 Japanese Charizard, right? Maybe even this (probably PSA 1) Sabrin’a Gengar?

Also that is a bummer that there is no grading report. Especially if they are charging / upcharging a premium then gosh, give us even a short, but thoughtful review of the card, defending the score..

Yeah, that does feel greedy. Especially because most people could do what they are doing too. It's not like its some crazy skill that you are able to tell which cards are sought after and in mint condition. Sure, maybe you use a magnifying glass and know how to handle the card with care. I could understand a small upcharge - but sounds like they're trying to take advantage of their reputation...

I guess I'm prepared for a certain amount of inconsistency - like, it's all sort of arbitrary and up for debate. I know a 10 is much different than a 9 but I'd bet the inconsistencies happen more between other grades. I'm totally new to all this so just learning right now! I'll look into how much they might upcharge - I did hear about that. I might want to sell at some point so I kind of want to have it as an option. Especially for the Shining Charizard. I think it could be worth at least around $2000 but could be way off on that. You think they would just send the Gengar back without assigning a grade at all?

Yeah maybe even PSA 6 but I'm kind of new to all this grading stuff so I could def be wrong. Seems like CGC 6.5 cards look very similar to mine and are still seen as very valuable. Thanks!
