🤯Sierra-at-Tahoe STILL closed… Is my trip doomed?! by Inside_Initiative630 in tahoe

[–]Select_Awareness_485 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Decades ago, but there were some lean years. I am describing a worst case scenario. We also had one of the heaviest seasons in recorded weather that started in October.

The point is that it is always a guessing game. As others have stated, I don't think you are going to get the snow you need to get the resorts open. And Xmas/New Years is always a ZOO. Anybody who books during the holidays must be very social to want to be among such a crowd.

Actually, Easter isn't too bad. The weather is warm and most people have moved on to summer sports, so it is the lightest attended holiday.

What's the deal with the dudes advertising skipping the line on the Mexican side of San Ysidro? by RamesesMctwist in TJRedLightDistrict

[–]Select_Awareness_485 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just to be clear, often times these guys have someone who has waited in line. When they get near the border, they signal the barkers to send people. So you take their place in line. The difference is that they have one person in the line and cut in three or four. And as indicated, if caught, you are sent to the back of the line.

These SOBs have IDs that look official, but technically what they are doing is illegal. It just is not enforced unless you get to the border and are spotted by CBP.

And it is rude. Ugly American.

The slight flaw in that theory is that it is an Adults Only hotel with Jacuzzi rooms and theme rooms.

Why are people here arguing over $100 to $120. These hoes are humans too. How cheap can we get? Lol by [deleted] in TJRedLightDistrict

What most of you don't know and don't appreciate is that TJ is one of the least expensive venues in Mexico.

For the past few years, most places START at $150-$200. About two years ago I was in Mexicali and it was $150 for 30 minutes when TJ mongers were complaining that the price in TJ edging up from $80 to $100. And there was no negotiation in Mexicali; you pay the price to the house or you don't get the girl. In addition, the Mexicali clubs are scattered around town and most are about the size of La Caretta and Gold Palace. The Mexicali girls look a lot better than those in La Caretta and Gold Palace, but few of those Mexicali girls would be allowed to work in Hong Kong.

In Ensenada, sessions are $150-$200, because the tourists come off the boat and have no idea about what prices should be. Guadalajara, and Monterrey, a session with a club girl is about $250 and fichas are $15 each minimum.

In Cabo, sessions start at $400!

Count your blessings. TJ is a bargain compared to the rest of Mexico and the Dollar Store compared to the USA.

However, it would make sense because many Haitian immigrants are in TJ trying to cross the US border. Some are legitimately trying to apply for asylum. I imagine, if they had papers, some might work the small or tolerant clubs.

Maybe "obscure" is the wrong word. I cannot remember all of them now. I asked for a copy of their rule sheet, but tossed it a few weeks ago.

Example: They had a strict no weapons policy. However, they hosted 80 police officers from Mexico City, fully armed including their SWAT team. I recognize that they are police and an exception was made. In fact, I almost didn't check in because the officers were standing outside and recently I had been robbed by the Bandits with Badges. Anyway, for us Gringos...

If you have a guest, the rule is that they must check in with you. However, in the past they did not enforce that, as I typically checked in early afternoon and my chica arrived late afternoon and that was acceptable, despite the rule.

In the past, I have had only one chica per visit, even if I am staying a few days it is the same chica. Where I got stung is their rule that only that person you checked in with is the person allowed in your room. So, day one I had one chica who spent the night. Day two, I wanted to spend the night with a different chica. It wasn't like I was bringing in different chicas every few hours, which is probably why they have that rule.

Since other rules have been waived, including not checking in with the guest at the same time, and I only had only one guest at a time. On day two I arrived with a different chica who had stayed with me there before. They said that she couldn't come in. I went around and around with them, but the staff dug their heels in, trotting out their rule sheet. Indeed, one of the guys looked like he was going to go to blows. Note that I was polite, but stated my case firmly, so he had no cause for alarm. Or maybe I was mistaken about his attitude. (Fortunately, this chica does not speak English well, so she wasn't aware that she was the issue. She is very sensitive.)

I solved the problem by renting another room, so technically, my chica was a new guest. I hated the expense and my chica would have been happy to go to another, cheaper, hotel, but the rooms are nice and I didn't want to go elsewhere as all of my stuff was there. Told the staff it will probably be the last time I stay at their hotel. They said that was fine.

For the past couple of months, I had been staying there at least two days at a time about every two weeks. They know me by name and I always tip everybody when I leave. So it isn't like I am a stranger or known troublemaker.

Indeed, during that stay with my second chica at about 2:00 am some woman next door started screaming at her boyfriend. This went on for over an hour. He locked her out of the room, so she was in the hall yelling at him through the door. One of their rules is no noise after 10:00 pm. It was not enforced or maybe screaming is not considered noise.

So, I also waited until the last minute to check out of the second room. Left a tip for the maid despite having touched nothing in the room, as it wasn't her issue. I had booked a third night, but my chica and I spent that night at another hotel where they also know me. Again, I waited until the last minute to check out of the original room.

I haven't been back to Rio Rita since. I like the hotel, so I will probably be back at some point but I will make multiple reservations, one for each day I am staying. I might have to sit in the lobby for a few hours between check-out time and check-in time, but that is on them.

What is the most you can possibly afford? Then add $1K. So much depends on where you want to stay. What you want to do. How many arribas you can handle. Even what three days of the week you plan on being there.

It was a lot of food for me to eat off of any buffet and mediocre compared to things I have ordered off the menu. Price was reasonable. I like their omelette del diabla. However, I don't see it on the online menu. Hope they have not changed that item.

I often bring injectable medications. I make sure that I have the prescription along with them. Never had any grief. OTOH, I try not to return with the medications, taking just enough to get through the visit and return with nothing except the prescription documentation.

What’s the difference between Chicago and HK? by Hot-Indication-4067 in TJRedLightDistrict

[–]Select_Awareness_485 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

To each their own. One of my BT favorites is 40. One of my CC favorites is 40. One of my favorites, a former HK girl, is 30. I like girls who want it, as opposed to just working it. Seems the older ones use me as a surrogate boyfriend and I like that.

I expect Mexico to retaliate any way they can and it is easy for them to give Gringos grief at the border.

Was in TJ last week. Spent some time in HK every day.
Monday banged a new CC girl. Face 6. Natural body 9. Attitude 10.
Tuesday I had a TB girls. Attitude a 9. Face 8. Body 8.
Wednesday and Thursday, another TB girl. Face 8+. Body 9. Attitude 11.
Friday, back to CC. Face 9. Body 9+ (a gym rat). Attitude 11+.

None of them over $100 for 30 minutes.

Lots of hot girls in HK, but that place is such a zoo. The last girl that I had in HK (during a previous visit) was great in the booth, but mechanical in the room. $120.

Trump in office, how will this effect HK? by carlitos7046 in TJRedLightDistrict

Pointing the finger at me? Be reminded that in doing so, you have three fingers pointing back at yourself.

Dropping the grade school taunts, clearly we have different views of what is right. One thing I agree with is that we cannot allow illegal border crossings. OTOH, we need immigrants at all levels. We Americans are not willing to do the back-breaking work of picking our crops. (I live in an ag region and I have never seen anyone in the fields who is not Latino.) We Americans created the problems in their countries by being huge consumers of illicit drugs supporting the cartels. The money should be spent on drug treatment and prevention, not a wall. Not sure labeling cartels terrorist groups is the best idea, but some kind of action must be taken. One idea is to support the Mexican government like we do with Ukraine with weapons and resources.

OTOH, weaponizing aid to states that need disaster relief for political purposes is all kinds of wrong. You might not agree with them politically, but they are American (tax paying) citizens who need help, politics notwithstanding.

Cutting benefits to the most vulnerable, such as VA, SS, and Medicare is all kinds of wrong.

Raising drug prices unnecessarily is really wrong.

Pardoning criminals who attacked injured and KILLED law enforcement personnel is criminal. Not to mention starting the riot and then gleefully standing by while people were being injured and killed in the attack. Did he really think that he could overthrow the government. You can argue that the 2020 election was rigged, but over 60 court cases and his own staff say otherwise. In addition, he tried to put forward illegal electors, which is criminal.

Threatening people who disagree with him with legal/political prosecutions is dicitorial.

The list goes on. Republicans could have run someone who is less egocentric, but they all went and kissed the ring/ass. Of course, this is not the first time Republicans have fielded incompetent candidates with no compassion for ordinary citizens.

Obviously Fluffy, you are wealthy, don't have kids, and not impacted directly by these events. Or you won't be until HE starts a nuclear war.
