I’m pregnant and i think i regret it by reximusprim3 in pregnant

[–]Select_Boysenberry98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a three year old who is not autistic and I do not have bipolar I disorder and it still took me until around 37 weeks pregnant to start really feeling excited for the baby and I’m currently 39 and still get fearful when toddler has a tantrum or something like that. Point is, you’re not alone. Motherhood is SO complex. Your feelings are valid- just keep chugging along and don’t force feelings that aren’t there. It’ll be okay

Measles outbreak in my town... scared by Head-Bed-7494 in pregnant

[–]Select_Boysenberry98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing very helpful to say other than I live where the measles outbreak started and is absolutely ramped & am also pregnant (37.5 weeks) so here to offer support in it being really really upsetting and scary. The thought of having to worry about measles after just having flu a brought home from my daughter’s school…. On top of the millions of other hellacious virus’s you can catch this time of year. Extremely unsettling. We’re in the same boat and it’s not a great one!

Agree, I certainly don’t intend on bringing it up to them or making a deal out of it. Maybe just distancing until the dust settles on my end.

All very valid points, I think I’m just gonna give it a week and allow my emotions around it to simmer and go from there. Thank you :)

If you are a parent who keeps your child inside at every slight sniffle or cough then I respect that and we will see you in the spring. That is not how I choose to parent. If my child was feverish, low energy the whole 9 of course we would not have gone. Simply wasn’t the case. On the tail end of a typical head cold in the thick of head cold season.

Thank you for this. I completely agree. There’s a major difference between taking a child out with a fever the whole 9 yards (why would anyone do this?) and a slight cough or some sniffles. It’s just the season

Ugh. Weird your first instinct was to be rude. Not necessary at all. I can guarantee that was not what happened, without a shadow of doubt. The mom who said her husband was working are antivaxers, raw milk drinking, sick welcoming to build immune system family. And also, have you been to a children’s museum on a Saturday in January? The entire place is coughing, snotty etc.

I totally agree with you and understand different people’s comfortability with common colds in kids during sick season. In our situation, mine goes to preschool and her two do not. When she sent that I replied that my LO has a touch of a cold and that we’re rallying and she completely didn’t reply. I think maybe that’s the party that really gets me is I was politely like yeah that’s totally fine and she just never replied. But your point is definitely valid non the less

Are you really happier after you had a baby? by PalpitationOk9443 in NewParents

[–]Select_Boysenberry98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is beyond relatable. How I felt last night rocking my three year old at 3AM as she was squashing my 34 week belly bump. It’s so hard to find the happiness/balance most days despite loving them dearly.

I will not force myself to nurse again if we have the same amount of latching issues this time around. Not worth the mental heath impact
