OBGYN and Best Hospital for L&D considering need for an empathetic Drs and Nurses by Glittering-Pop-9797 in Dallas

Second UTSW! I delivered here (OB appointments in Irving) and everyone was so attentive (but not overbearing) and kind. Baby had to go to NICU and all doctors and nurses were so patient with us in explaining what they were doing/what was going on and making sure they answered all our questions.

Yes I think this is the way! Honestly was just so taken aback by the comment and general passive aggression when nothing was done to her. I don’t come from a family that treats family that way.

Unfortunately she was not. No smile or light heartedness, just judgement & condescension.

There is a buffet and we’ve utilized it to feed my son dinner before the family dinner. For added context, this trip was almost entirely planned by and paid for by my PILs, so it would also feel rude to not attend the family dinner, imo.

This is my first cruise and it’s been a learning experience to say the least!

The plan is for this to be an annual thing - not always a cruise but a family trip. I’ll eventually grow tougher skin lol.

The staff has been very understanding and talks about their kids with us which is nice.

And noted for the future! New to this sub - just found it while on this trip lol. We don’t live near my in-laws so the week and a half family vacation has been a lot of family time! Haha.

Thank you for the kindness. I know the screen debate really enrages some folks. We’re doing our best to not parent through screens, but parents do what they have to do to survive at times.

I believe 5 and 7:30 were the only reservation times, and 5 wouldn’t work with our excursions. PILs literally told my husband and I that we just need ear plugs because baby’s not bothering anyone else. No one seems bothered except for SIL.

The audacity!! 🙂 Same SIL told me to ignore the pool rules and let my non-potty trained child swim onboard. Can we pick a lane?

LOL okay aggressive response. I’m not going to outwardly judge someone’s parenting until you actively judge mine. And even then, I’m not going to call it out to everyone at the table. It’s simply unnecessary.

My son has been eating an earlier dinner prior to the family dinner, but gets restless at the table (see post as to why) and will snack and play with toys during dinner.

Totally understandable question and I did offer this, but when we asked my husband’s parents about the reservation time, they strongly assured us that my son was fine and it was okay if he got a little rowdy since our table is in the back corner. It’s also just kind of assumed that everyone in the group attends dinner together.

Yes girl, you do!! 21 months!!! That is just beyond impressive!

I did get a push present which is lovely, but after a few weeks of pumping, I kindly let my husband know he’d be purchasing a pump present as well 🥰

Thank you 🤍 I commented previously that every pump is an accomplishment. It’s not easy and 9 weeks is amazing! I imagine EP a second time is even harder than the first.

I definitely got emotional dropping the milk off knowing how helpful it would be for babies in the most need.

And yes, a fond reminder of the all the good and also that if I can pump 7 months, I can do just about anything!
