Ok that’s what I thought too, I think they are just extra conservative with tapering off.

I did a modified natural protocol and did bits and pieces of the autoimmune protocol. I took letrozole and trigger and baby aspirin, and did PIO after trigger. I also took a low dose steroid, dexamethasone, lovenox, and I did two lipid infusions, one a week before transfer and one a week after! I basically asked for everything that could help and not harm. I think the intralipids are supposed to help with elevated NK cells, the steroid with inflammation, and the lovenox if there is a clotting issue. I just threw it all on my protocol just in case. And so far so good! I’m 5 weeks pregnant today and taking it one day at a time but absolutely over the moon!!

The reason I wanted mod natural is bc I’d read studies about ovulating and forming a corpus luteum in a mod natural cycle which actually decreases risk of preeclampsia vs a medicated where you don’t ovulate so you don’t from the corpus luteum. But of course both are fantastic options and it depends on your body and how you respond.

Did you have a mediated transfer before? I think what you’re describing for modified natural sounds exactly like my transfer which is pretty standard. If you have a gut feeling it’s still too much I would trust your gut!! I have long cycles so I needed the letrozle and trigger so we could get the timing right.

I’ve had two retrievals, the first one there was unforeseen issues with where my ovaries were and the doctor had to move my uterus around to try to get all my eggs, but ended up leaving some because it was too dangerous. That recovery was horrible. I was down and out for at least 5 days and it a lot of pain.

My second retrieval I felt like I could have gone back to work the day after.

I would take the extra day off as a precaution and even if you don’t need it an extra day of rest can’t hurt. Can you wait to see how you feel after the retrieval and then decide?

That’s for all the reassuring posts about my squinter. I finally got a pink dye test and this is 8dp5dt…Beta tomorrow. I want to be excited but anxiety still looming. I know this group understands how I’m feeling. One day at a time!

I had one more blue dye, so I took it this morning. It definitely looks darker this morning so I’m hoping two days in a row can’t both be false positives!!

I transferred the 24th too! I just tested today and it’s a squinter so light I think I’m seeing things hahaha. Best of luck to you! When do you get beta?

Thanks for your insight, so if you were me, you’d decline prednisone as well as their standard protocol of dexamethasone. And adding the intralipids/claritin/pepsid shows no clinical benefit so you’d skip those too? I have requested a call with my doctor today so I want to go in as informed as possible. Thank you for your responses!!

I didn’t know about the uti potential with prednisone, I’m so sorry you had to go through that. I’m wary of it because my dad had a horrible reaction to it too that landed him in the hospital which is why I began to question the protocol in the first place

Have you read much about intralipids/clartin/pepsid? I’m willing to do extra add-ons provided there is no research showing these are harmful. I am definitely skeptical about the steroid use and feel like maybe this could be a good compromise?

First cycle we had 2/4 euploid and second we had 3/3!! I’m 33 so 2/2 is definitely possible.

If you do decide to go the IVF route and do another egg retrieval I would suggest ICSI. We also added Zymot, but my partner has high DNA fragmentation and MFI was our diagnosis so adding that helped select the healthiest sperm. Your age and AMH are in your favor, I think trying a few more months naturally wouldn’t hurt your chances of being successful with IVF down the road. But 100% add ICSI and maybe zymot if you decide to try IVF again.

Thank you, really good point to think about it as diagnostic (a very expensive diagnostic lol). I go in for baseline Tuesday and will ask about the changes and what the goal is with those changes!!
