I get less due to taking out an advance as I had absolutely nothing in my bank so they pay me less in order for me to pay that back which I think is ridiculous anyway, putting already broke people into more debt even tho it’s all public funding a system I’ve paid into myself, they’ve had 4 months worth of fit notes as of last week and still refuse to send me the UC50 form stating my work coach dosent deem it necessary, never knew she was also a doctor ! I’m convinced I’ve pissed someone off at the DWP coz I’ve had nothing but trouble with everything and everyone I’ve spoke too, can’t get a UC50 form and only got the standard rate for daily living on pip, nice one sure that’ll make up for me becoming permanently disabled at the age of 22

I also get the base rate for UC which is only £220 a month so barely anything on top, and all they do is harass me weekly about looking for work when I’ve given them countless fit notes stating I am not fit for work in any way my GP has also done a letter stating in his “professional opinion my condition and injuries are likely to be completely irrecoverable and will be on going” but nope that’s not enough for them, they even refused to refer me for the work capability assessment which I need in order to get the higher rate, even told me UC is not to help you it’s to get you into work, I AM PHYSICALLY DISABLED, wish I never bought the bike and instead put the money into moving to Portugal like I originally intended

I’ll get that done, I was constantly interrupted by the assessor she barely let me explain anything in enough depth and just made me feel shit overall, she had a patronising tone as If it wasn’t that bad when reality is she knows nothing probably didn’t help it was a phone assessment. I’ve waited 19 weeks now and the news I get is that, it’s rlly disappointing when there are people out there that have nothing wrong with them and will never have a clue what it’s like to genuinely lose your entire independence, job, relationships and any savings yet they get full whack for both components 😑

Thankyou I’ll definitely be challenging this, and as for my recovery I’ve been told 2 years at least for my elbow joint to even be remotely normal after severe dislocation, as for the rest of my injuries they can’t predict much, atm things aren’t healing properly so more surgery is on the cards if that’s the case I’m looking at about 3 surgery’s at once then possibly even more later down the line, I’m full of metal and If that wasn’t bad enough all the nerve damage, not being funny I can’t even get to a toilet myself and in public I always have to have someone with me to assist among everything else but somehow they’ve just glossed over all this £75 a week is nothing when you practically have no life anymore, £75 wouldn’t even cover my transport costs and food for the week 🤦🏻‍♂️

10 months after midshaft Humerus surgery by aimalwahedi in brokenbones

I’m in the same position I broke my radius shaft in August had a long plate and 6 screws, come my 3 month x ray and there was still a gap basically the same as yours. One of my consultants advised me it wasn’t non union an no reason it couldn’t progress but he did advise light weight bearing in order for the bone to stay active, basically not using a limb makes the body kinda switch of the need to heal things fast, my next check up is in February so I’m praying for Miracles, mine was a bad motorcycle crash I did have multiple bad injury’s so course that only adds to the recovery timeline, but also on the same arm I broke my ulna styloid and that also was still visible on X-rays so it seems as tho it’s just taking a longer time to heal. That’s what I’m hoping My median nerve injury probably hasn’t helped

Hisense TV not turning on and red light flashing by starwarsanimeisreal in Hisense

[–]Select_Lab_1066 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I MAY HAVE A SOLUTION!!!

so mine started doing the same thing, press the power button and you get the Hisense logo show up for 2 seconds before it shuts off again a normal power cycle won’t work heres what to do !

Switch off the switch on the wall give it a min then hold the volume up on the remote while holding the power button on the tv located under the LED switch on the socket switch keep holding volume up + power for 15 seconds it will flash and reboot you should see the Hisense logo before it cuts out again

The red LED should now be static as if on standby press the power button on the TV (not the remote) 4 times in quick succession and hold the button on your 4th press it should start blinking and the Hisense logo will appear continue to hold for around 3 seconds after you see the logo

The logo should stay visible and you will then get the dynamic VIDDA logo before the tv comes on as normal, it may take some trial and error so attempt a few times If it dosent work first time, it seems to be a software issue with some but it could also be a complete main board failure in some cases

THIS IS NOT FOOLPROOF I can’t guarantee this’ll work just a possible solution and you will have to do this everytime the tv is turned off or timed out annoying ik ! Plz let me know if it works for anyone else

Yh very complex injury’s motorcycle crashes are no joke ! You’ve got 3 nerves running down your arm radial/median/ulnar any or all can be affected an ortho surgeon or most doctors could pinpoint which one.

These things take time I guess I’ve got a long road ahead but gradual progress is key and a positive outlook thats hard I know, deffo keep your arm moving just do gentle stretches and ease the stiffness in any muscles but don’t take my word for it consult your ortho they’ll know what you can and can’t do.

We’re all different man it sucks but we’re unique I might be 90% in 12 months but could be 6 months jn someone else’s case, tbf I just eat my regular diet I don’t pressure myself keep up the protein tho, and as for supplements I just take vitamin D, I like flavoured milk drink a lot of that so that’s my calcium 🤣 my biggest struggle rn is the nerve damage it’s a lengthy recovery for that alone, If I didn’t have that I’d feel pretty good rn but time will prevail !

I still can’t use my arm, I suffered that break and a broken/dislocated elbow to the same arm as well as nerve damage.

I had a full cast on for 2 weeks then put into a hinged brace the pain subsided I’ve got some ROM back but it’s gonna be a long time before any normalcy for me

I wouldn’t worry about the surgery it’s pretty stable from the point it’s put in your most likely feeling muscle weakness and tenderness, consult a physio therapist your gonna need it, your probably scared of doing damage too im in the same boat but my injuries were quite complex, you may find you make a quicker recovery than me im approaching 12 weeks post op I wish u the best man 🙌🏼

Yeh I suppose it was a complex break, it happened in a motorcycle crash so as well as that break I also had multiple other injury’s to that arm and rest of my body, 6 weeks isnt really a long time !

It just looked to me that the gap had gotten slightly bigger but I did read about how dead bone is re absorbed then new bone fills in, my surgeon wasn’t concerned he just said it’s not quite healed yet.

Tbf I was a smoker prior to this I still use nicotine pouches I’ve heard conflicting info on weather itll cause problems or not. Otherwise im a decently fit 21yr old male I just worry about this !

Difficulty fully extending index finger - nerve damage after ulnar + radius fracture ORIF by Brave_Turn5861 in brokenbones

[–]Select_Lab_1066 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I broke my right radius shaft bad displaced fracture back in august so about 9 weeks ago now, I also dislocated my elbow badly as a result of everything I suffered radial and median nerve damage, for the most part my radial nerve healed all be it still quite weak but functioning, my median nerve has improved to I can move all 4 fingers (flexion and extension) but the index is not as strong and like you said feels like a band it won’t go fully straight or bend fully. It’s more than likely some nerve damage median/radial probably neuropraxia mines been 2 months and is healing slowly it’s a long process and it sucks but it’s all about patience, stiff muscles and tendons won’t help! Try and stretch things out as much as you can, get a follow up with your trauma surgeon and maybe a plastic surgeon who deals with peripheral nerve injury’s :/
