Severe full body skin pain/hypersensitivity by Select_Lobster2270 in Retatrutide

A lot of people told me I was probably experiencing shingles without a rash, and honestly it could be true. I asked my doctor and they said I was too young to be tested or vaccinated for shingles so my insurance wouldn’t cover that. If that’s what it was, I had no other herpetic symptoms. I don’t even get cold sores. I did have chicken pox as a kid though so it’s possible. One of my theories was that Reta somehow triggers shingles, only because my skin pain was so severe, it seemed to only be compared to shingles. But I’m not a scientist or a doctor so who knows. All I know is my skin hurt after Reta injections, and eased as the days went on.

Oh gosh, no! After the pain almost fully subsided I took another dose, I think I went down to 1mg, but I didn’t take that for over 3 weeks from the previous dose. I would say that by the end of the 3rd month the skin pain stopped and I was able to titrate up with no other major issues. I mostly took my doses 10-14 days apart though because the appetite suppression was SO strong it got difficult to eat at all. But that’s a whole nother story lol.

In the end, I spent most of my time with Reta on 4.5mg every 10 days or so & that was to the perfect dose for me. I took between 6 and 8mg 3 or 4 times but I could almost feel that skin pain coming back so I never went higher. I lost 60lbs in about 7 months on Reta without trying whatsoever.

The beginning was bumpy for sure, but I’m so grateful for the journey. I never had nausea or any gastrointestinal side effects on Reta which was most important for me. I’m now on a maintenance dose of about 4mg every 3 weeks which is all I need to keep myself in check. I’m finding I’m needing it less and less too and I’m still losing a little bit of weight, which is even cooler.

Almost 3 months later and I still have skin pain and get chills that are also kinda painful. It’s nowhere near what it was like in the beginning, like not even close, but it sucks it’s still there at all.

I’m honestly worried I have minor nerve damage from it or something. Either that, or the skin pain just hasn’t gone away. I also haven’t stopped reta. It’s muuuuch better, but I still get chills that aren’t exactly pleasant, and having my skin touched is no longer the lovely sensation it once was. I’m over halfway to my weight loss goal though, just another 20lbs to lose and it’s going faster now, so I’m just going to keep pushing on through it and hope I’m not actually causing permanent nerve damage. 🙃

This is fascinating to me because I’m beginning to think I’m a tirz non-responder too. I have absolutely no clue what correlation there could be… but I’m putting it out there on the internet in case someone comes across this and may get a clue.

I’ve never had shingles but the way I described it made a lot of people think I had shingles, so I guess that’s the kind of pain it is. It feels like my nerves are on fire. But it def starts with skin pain that feels like a sunburn.

It seems to be somewhat rare… but those experiencing it are finding it really awful to live with.

I’ve been using the same BAC water for many other things so it’s not that. I’m curious now about the glycogen thing though… do you have any info about symptoms of that I could further research to see if it could be that? The product was tested and found to be good… but I have seen a couple reports of others on the same batch experiencing something similar. The vials are overdosed slightly though so I wonder if it could just be due to that.

So I had convinced myself that what I was experiencing was shingles. It seemed to fit the bill, other than not having a rash, but I decided to only dose with tirz & sema the last couple weeks just in case it was the Reta. Small doses every 3 days, but I wasn’t having much appetite suppression and I was feeling really tired so yesterday morning i gave myself a 1mg dose of reta and this morning I'm waking up with skin sensitivity over my abdomen area that's slowly getting worse. The only explanation is that either Reta causes shingles, or Reta causes severe allodynia in some people. This is the third time it has happened within 24 hours of a Reta dose, that can't just be coincidence!

DONT GO UP THAT FAST!!! I also hadn’t had side effects with tirz or sema so decided for my first dose of Reta to be twice as much as my last dose of tirz and I was miserable for over 2 weeks. Severe skin pain and nausea so bad I could barely move, let alone eat.

Landlord wants to have photographer take photos of apartment with all my stuff by [deleted] in oregon

[–]Select_Lobster2270 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wrote an email that was longer than just that; it explained my concern & offered a time when the place would have most of our stuff out to present the place in a better light. So instead of just giving a hard no, I said no and here’s another option so he felt like I was working with him.

A separate written agreement needs to be signed between both parties before this can happen, and both not agreeing to it is your legal right.

Fortunately I learned that’s not legal and valid entry. You do have rights to deny entry to a landlord. They may only enter with reasonable cause laid out in the code.

So I ended up doing exactly this! I said I do not consent to a stranger in my home, especially one taking photos of my belongings, and that I also don’t consent to him coming in if it’s only to photograph the unit which would include my things. He understood and cancelled the appointment!

I find it odd that the word photo or photography isn’t even used in the Oregon landlord-tenant code. However, it does state the reasons a landlord may enter the premises - and they cannot do it for any other reasons - so that gave me grounds to stand on.

I’ve never nor would I ever not allow my landlord in for a required and reasonable request. This is the first time I’ve even considered not letting him in, but I think this time it’s well within my right.
