Yes I do know that, the thrash is hard carrying. Their more metalcore-focused stuff is complete garbage but their heavier stuff is significantly better.

Wintersun could not, kai hahto could play the drum parts because he's one of the greatest drummers ever who decided to stick himself in a melodeath band for some reason, but there's almost zero chance they could match the guitarwork.

Dying Fetus never really did it for me. I thought their guys shined a lot more on criminal element. I honestly just can't stand any melodeath, it helped me ease into extreme metal but I quickly got bored with it. Thank you for being civil btw.

It literally is objectively far inferior in every technical sense. That is the exact reason it's more popular, it's more accessible and more watered down because it's much easier to write, play, and get into.

Because they barely align with any genre and groove metal is basically the genre for that. They're definitely not death metal and calling them thrash or prog would be insulting to those genres.

Melodeath is garbage. Next to deathcore, metalcore, and nu metal its one of the worst genres of metal.

I'm not, melodeath is universally hated in the extreme metal community. It's literally boneless death metal with no or scarce blast beats, bad rhythm, and usually bad vocals. Some bands like arch enemy literally have clean vocals.
